It looks like the differences between this and the original release is that the re-release includes Nyanyashiki specials, which aren't present in the 2014 version I have. Also it appears to come on 2 BDs instead of just 1, I wonder if that had any bitrate changes for the episodes?

Nana getting released on blu-ray is bad news for collectors that paid £100's for those Viz DVD box sets. Not sure I'd be arsed to watch it now, being olde 'n all, but 'tis one of few things left on my cartoon bucket list. Maybe one day rest of Viz DVD-only multi-part box sets get re-released. Blood+, Monster and whatever else. Terrible sellers all, I'm assuming, being as was never a complete box set for any.


I'd rather Maison Ikkoku/Yatsura on blu-ray. Despite Takahashi's fame, discotek seems only hope for those given age, and they mainly seem to focus on movies/OVAs. Surprised City Hunter got released by them.

Lol, I'm 60 years olde and still love Nana! I picked up the four Viz DVD sets back in 2015, brand new from Rightstuf for $20.23 each, just a couple of weeks before Set 2 went completely OOP - perfect timing! But I still can't wait to get Nana on Blu, and in a steelbook!

Monster is another great series, and I have a great story for that one, too. I bought the Siren Visual R4 DVDs, also back in 2015, and then when Siren offered a separate cardboard storage box to put their 5 DVDs into later that year, I ordered and paid $15 for one empty box from them. They instead proceeded to send me a full $120 Boxset with all 5 DVDs included - TWICE, before finally sending me just the empty box. It would have cost too much for them to have me return the sets back to them from the US, so they just told me to keep them. So I actually had 3 boxsets of Monster in my collection at one point, until I sold off the extra two sets to other forum friends.

Coming out in Japan in March 2022, a 4K UHD set containing works by Kihachirō Kawamoto and Tadanari Okamoto.

The films will apparently have English subtitles.

Kodocha does appear to have been released today... but the listing has vanished from Amazon (it was available to pre-order previously). It's in stock on Right Stuf, but who can afford to sell that many organs to pay their shipping rates?

Until tomorrow you can still order it from UP1 (who source their US releases from Rightstuf) although they will be closed when it is released, due to holiday postal problems.

It was originally meant to be released this month, but has been delayed until next year and doesn't have a new release date yet. I normally import Australian releases via EzyDVD, but it's not available for pre-order yet.

Still no Sailor Moon? I wonder what's gone wrong with that box set. I hope they haven't cancelled it.

It's good to see Adachi and Shimamura on there. I might get that instead of the Funimation release so I'll have a zone B copy.

As someone who briefly ordered the release, I got this message when it was cancelled shortly after the removal of the product page

"Unfortunately, due to licensing issues, the release of SAILOR MOON COMPLETE SERIES (SEASONS 1-5) (BLU-RAY) (LIMITED EDITION) has been delayed indefinitely."

Remains to be seen what this means but I wouldn't be too hopeful.

Yeah, "delayed indefinitely" is usually corporate speak for cancelled. That's disappointing. I notice that some of the individual season sets are out of print, so maybe the licences were up for renewal and the licensor bumped the price up higher than Madman wanted to pay.
