Wow, my joke topic thread turned into a serious discussion, this was not planned.
Neither was the leaning tower of Pisa, but it happens. :p

Girls in swimsuits = X. You shouldn't gawk at kids (boy/girl) when they're not even matured. They dont really need the exposure.
But to say a kid in anything (including a swimsuit) and saying they're cute, then I see nothing wrong with it. Fluffy plush bears are cute so you'd want to hug them, so why cant fashion do the same. Ok, maybe not the random stranger suddenly wrapping their arms around the kid, but family and friends that you trust. Everyone wants to hug/be hugged (without sounding or acting like a hippy) because it reassures and comforts the hugged.

In short, kid eroticy = pointless/disgusting. Kid cuteness = safe/comforting.
And Rui, that's quite a good view there with the maturity and BL/GL issue.

but then what do you class as an young child/infant?

personally i count anyone under 12 as an infant and anyone under 16 still a child

but then Japans age of Concention (or however you spell it) is only 14

That's not really true. The age of consent is only 14 is a small number of prefectures in Japan. Most prefectures have the age of consent much, much higher. But, that's beyond the point. The age of consent here in Ireland is 16, does that mean it's okay for fully grown men (20+) to fantasize and desire these girls? Of course not!

I think if I remember from what I posted elsewhere around here the age of consent in Japan can vary from 13-18 depending on the area.

but at that point, it's not really to different from from 22 year old girls with 70 year olds.

onces it's legal, all you can do is frown or moan about it.

and even doing that nowerdays can get you in trouble

human rights isn't just an excuse nowerdays

well in the eyes of the law your legal to have sex at 16. (in the UK that is)
so technically speaking if a 20+ year old and a 16 year old wanted to. then it is legal.

but thankfully most girls arent like that.

does anybody know why the different parts of china and japan have different consent ages? i guessed the UK consent age was established because at 16 the girl is grown up enough to make her own decisions and in maturity, is physically matured enough to produce children.

I didn't actually get your point at all, but I did notice that you spelled "nowadays" wrong twice :/

What do you mean, "targetting ageism"?

The law and morality are not always concurrent. Just because a 30-year-old and a 16-year-old are legally allowed to have sex, that doesn't make it right.

Likewise, just because it's 'legal' to oogle pre-pubescant girls in cartoon form, that doesn't make it just or any less creepy.

my point was that the way things go in this world at the moment, even if you sound just a tiny bit Racist/Sexist/ect, you're likely to end up in court charged with racism/sexism/ect.

All people seem interested in is how to make money other others.

and i've already told you about my spelling issues

Ah, I get you now. Well, personally, I think that people who complain about an overt emphasis on so-called "political correctness" first of all, grossly exagerate the extent of the 'problem' (there is no problem, watching what you say about socially vulnerable groups like ethnic and sexual minorities is not a problem, and neither are the repercussions you'll face if you abuse your freedom of speech) and secondly, are usually just making excuses for their own racist/homophobic/sexist opinions ...

and i've already told you about my spelling issues

I don't think you have. But, fair enough, point taken :]

well i wouldn't say it's absolutly out of control but you'd be surprised how many times a week a member of our staff is called a racist simply because we wouldn't give them a refund

dunno if it's a country wide thing or just around where i am, but it does happen alot

That's asking a bit much. :p

Anyway, why can't people leave fun threads be? There's always a few people that ruin these threads by turning it into a serious discussion.
