UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

Is there any reprints of Higurashi S1 coming? It’s not listed on AOL and most places seem to have it out of stock, though S2 and S3 are easy enough to find. Cheapest I can seem to find it (new) is about £40
I've got season 1 on DVD, still unwrapped.
If it's a Blu-ray you want then I am unable to help.

I just wanted to give praise to MVM customer service. Last year I bought a copy of Iroduku The World in Colour but because I have a back log almost as tall as Mount Fuji I have only just watched it. It turns out I had one of the copies with a defective second disc that was missing subtitles on episode 13. I contacted MVM and within a day they shipped out a new disc to me which arrived shortly after.

They are a great company with brilliant customer service 🙂

I’ll have to second this - probably second to none for CS.
I had a similar issue (albeit manufacturing fault) with a disc purchased probably a couple of years before I discovered it and asked on the off-chance. But still had an instant response and replacement with no hassle at all.
Oh damn, I should probably check my copy that I bought but haven't watched too.
You should probably actually watch it, not just check!
Fortunately I’ve already excavated that title out of my pile a little while ago, but did just now take the opportunity to verify the mentioned ep13.
The subs are actually quite complex on that episode, with dialogue and signs, and also a different timing for soundtrack lyrics (both translated and original).

Does the replacement disc have the code MBR7286BV2 under MVM's logo? That's the code on my copy which I ordered a few months after release. I think it's safe to assume the V2 should signify that it's the fixed version but could you confirm that's the case?

Can't really access my PS4 to check the discs at the moment lol

That's the code my disc has and I can confirm my disc contains subtitles for episode 13.

Yes it does, the one with V2 at the end is the fixed one.

Oh, I've already watched it back when it was first added to Amazon Prime, I just got the blu-ray to add to my shamefully large collection of things I bought in case I ever want to rewatch them in the future (but most likely won't).
Just checked my disc and unfortunately it's also missing subtitles on episode 13 so I've just asked for a replacement.

I should probably get into the habit of checking discs when I get them if I'm not going to watch in the near future, if it hadn't been for RedundantSquash's post I might not have noticed until they no longer had replacements to provide or something.
