Getting theoretical for a second, if Manga hadn't gone through their much publicised issues at the moment/left Starz/had Jerome etc. depart, what titles do you think they would have pushed out by this point beyond what they have actually released?

We would have had the second half of Ghost in the Shell Arise by now, and Hellsing Ultimate 9 and 10 for definite

Maybe Aquarion EVOL, D-Frag!, Darker than Black BD, Date a Live, Freezing Season 2, Heaven's Lost Property, and most definitely Wanna Be The Strongest in the World.

And we'd still have Fairy Tail on Blu-ray.

So basically any boob-heavy fanservice show, right? :)

I wonder if they would have got any more of High School DxD by this point.

They're losing out on money by not picking it up/announcing a license by now. Considering how well it sold and how eager fans have been for s2 on social media, it seems silly to not say anything or at least hint. If it's not announced at the Expo... :/

D-Frag and Date a Live are presumably with Kaze so goodness knows when or if they will actually come out.
HLP looks to be stuck in the same basket as Shuffle and Haganai at this point - FUNi presumably has the UK home video license but if Manga was going to option it, they would have by now.
DtB has the problem of being a re-release and they prefer to stick to BDs for newer titles (has anything got a BD re-release from them other than FMP:B? I've gone blank.)
I'm not interested in Sekatsuyo so don't have anything to say. Same with Freezing and I've ignored EVOL not having seen anything else from the series before.

So I was reading Emo185's review on Harlock: Space Pirate and apparently the extended Japanese version is basically the same version on Blu-ray but with the Japanese audio.

They are different. The Blu-ray runs 111:19 at 24fps, while the DVD runs 110:24 at PAL 25 fps, taking into account 4% speed-up, it's actually around 3 extra minutes of footage. I definitely noticed one extended scene...

Both versions of the film are naff IMO.

I was JUST about to say I'm sure someone will prove me wrong (and then this post appears) xD

Quick question, decided it's about time I watched Madoka Magica to see wtf the fuss is about. Now looking into it Mangas version is by far the cheapest option but with it being Manga I feel I should ask before I give them my money, anything wrong with their BDs?

They're Madman authored discs, so they're watchable enough. Disc 1 lacks a signs only track, but that's the only flub I can think of at this time. Not an issue unless you're a dub fan.

Okay I'll give them a shot then, thanks.

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

I really do hope this is some genuinely new stuff this time and not just more One Piece or whatever.

Aside from Nisekoi (which is a Kaze release), I'm still not sure Manga have released/announced any non-ongoing titles yet this year that weren't already announced before their troubles started?

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

I know. I can't help but feel that them saying they have a New and Exciting release when it's just Naruto or One Piece release 300 or whatever is just blatantly misleading.

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

Remember last time they said they had some amazing announcement and we would be so excited and shocked? Then it was the next Bleach release?
Yeah, don't expect anything more that that, Naruto, or One Piece.

I think in actuality the 'amazing' announcement was for the UK DVD and Blu-ray release of Nisekoi; but for whatever reason Bleach was tweeted (auto-tweet perhaps?) - that was my initial thought anyway as they were teasing Nisekoi at around that time.

Maybe the announcement is for the new Dragon Ball Z movie; it may seem far-fetched but the US and Australia already have it and when that happens the UK isn't too far behind.

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

I would expect an announcement for The Last: Naruto the Movie soon, considering the US and Australia have already had limited theatrical releases.

They might also confirm that they have the new Hosoda.

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

So MangaUK's surprise announcement was non-other than Dragon Ball Z Kai being released on DVD and Blu-ray; well I "sort-of" guessed correctly (as its still part of the Dragon Ball Z universe) haha.

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

hmm... So what are the chances that Manga will actually complete the DBZ Kai BR set? Having non-matching sets kinda p****s me off. I want to support UK distributors but seeing as I switched from US > UK > AU on fairy tail and UK > AU on Xam'd I don't want to end up with yet another un-matching set...

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

Manga UK have licensed Terra Formars for DVD and Blu-ray release; Part 1 is due out in August.

Manga have said it will be in two parts, so I assume Part 2 will be released by end of the year (strange that its being split into two parts considering its a 13-episode anime series - unless I'm missing something).
