They didn't cut it. It's a version that been used elsewhere before from what I've heard. Never even seen the film and have no interest in doing so, so don't quote me..

I recall people saying that Kaze cut the extra parts at the end of Bleach, like Arrancar Encyclopedias and the Soul Society ones ..They're not, I think they're on the last set of set 9 (I'm 90% sure I remember seeing them on there) & they're definitely on set 10, at least up until the end of the first two dvd's.

Yeah, they were absent from the first half of Series 9, and everyone (rightfully) complained and they were put back in, apart from the "see you next time!" type messages with a screengrab that appears at the end, but I hardly noticed them, to be honest.

As this is the Manga Entertainment thread I thought I would ask here. Out of curiosity what, has Manga authored any Blu-ray's them self rather than get them from Australia, USA or Europe.
If they have, did they do Welcome to the space show and Origin: spirits of the past?

They did Welcome to the Space Show and Musashi the Last Samurai, Origin, The Sky Crawlers, Ghost in the Shell Innocence and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time of the top of my head. Maybe Ghost in the Shell 2.0 as well.

I thought Madman done the girl who leapt through time as it has their logo on start up.
Excluding TGWLTT, Space Show and Origin do those others have a text only sub track for the English audio? I know Space Show and Origin don't even though they should have. If they don't I want to know why Manga keep excluding the text only track from stuff they do. No one else does.

I'm confused about TGWLTT, as it is definitely a European disc, with Spanish and Catalan options, which isn't exactly Madman's remit. But as you say, it does have the Madman logo. I'm inclined to think that rather than use a Madman master, Manga and Madman actually co-authored it. Innocence has no signs, neither does GITS 2.0. Musashi was a UK exclusive, still is as far as I know, and Manga commissioned an English voice over (it's a documentary anime), and it has subs and signs.

Did Manga do the Ninja Scroll Blu-ray? as that is missing a text only sub track, though it would only be to translate the title and at the one hour mark the writing carved into the tree. When watching with English audio it doesn't get translated even though it is plot specific.

Well, they would still have to pay the BBFC to rate the track, and I assume they'd have to pay for the full length of the video just for that one line...

Fair point as it is one line although it is still plot specific, but taking a guess I think Funimation or Madman would have put the second track. On the subject of Ninja Scroll did Sentai put a text only track on their version?
Thing is though it seems all the Blu-ray's Manga does their self they leave out the text only track. Origin needs it, the Japanese text at the beginning is explaining the back story to the film. In Welcome To The Space Show when the little girl is thinking back to what a sign said, it shows the sign but it doesn't get translated so you're not sure why she is referencing it.

FUNimation and Madman don't have to pay £10 a minute just to get a track rated...
There was a time that Manga didn't do a sign subs track as a matter of policy, they have at least improved since then.

That policy was a small part of the reason I stopped buying Manga DVD's years ago.
With Blu-rays from what I have seen and read if they do the disc their self they still don't. The text only tracks on Manga releases are on discs that come via from Madman, Kaze, Sentai or Funimation. At least what I have seen, and read from reviews.

But don't the BBFC charge for language tracks, not subtitle tracks? I seriously doubt Beez were/Khazi are paying multiple times for their French/German/other subtitles.
I don't see why signs would need to be rated separately anyway since they are (or should be) already part of the main subtitle track. And even if that wasn't the case, surely the signs would be rated as part of the English language track.

Things may have changed, but companies used to say we only get one subtitle track since they had to pay extra for every track.

So far, they've got Collection's 5 to 8 licensed and released for next year. I think they're also trying to get Strong World as well.
