Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

Manga Entertainment have asked fans a question, let's see what we think:

In case you missed this hypothetical question: "How many of you guys would buy an #AOT BD/DVD steelbook if it was priced at £34.99? >JM" ^JG
…It's very much a a hypothetical question so it's by no means concrete. But we would like to hear your thoughts. ^JG
…I will add, this would (likely) be on the basis of half season set(s). (Oh and in case you don't know, AOT = Attack On Titan.) ^JG

Have Manga said anything about licensing more One Piece episodes beyond those already announced in the four collections released this year?

So far, they've got Collection's 5 to 8 licensed and released for next year. I think they're also trying to get Strong World as well.

Thanks for that. They are certainly burning through the dubbed episodes.

To add an official response of sorts here, yes we have announced we'll be releasing Collections 5, 6, 7 & 8 on DVD in 2014. Nothing to report when it comes to any of the movies and episodes past that Collection 8, but if/when there's any update we'll be sure to make it known.

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

Well being as that is more 200 episodes I am sure that's enough to be getting on with for now for me. :) How many seasons worth does that represent?

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

Hey guys, have Manga completely given up on producing slip-covers? Seems that way with DBGT.
Also, any idea of they're going to release DBZKai on BD, or should I just import the rest? Thanks.

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

When are we due some more announcements, the upcoming line up is pretty slim.

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

Off the top of my head, these are what's coming from MangaUK for Q4:

Devil Is A Part Timer
Berserk Movie 3
Street Fighter Film
Attack on Titan Part 2
Princess and the Pilot
Bayonetta Film
GITS Arise

Add in DBZ and One Piece and their schedule isn't THAT quiet.

From Q1 2015 I do agree, but may be too soon for that. They may not like announcing things too early (a la Funimation) and prefer to announce closer to release.

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

This is everything I've got confirmed dates for from October to December:

Berserk Movie 3 (Kaze)
Dragon Ball Season 4
Attack on Titan Part 2
Ghost in the Shell: Arise Borders 1 & 2
Dragon Ball Season 5
Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Gods

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

I am still very "will I, won't I" over GITS: Arise Borders.

Are "die hard" "original dub cast" GITS fans enjoying this one?

I need AoT in my life ASAP! Might have to shove it on my xmas list from my Mum and wait an extra while :(

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

I have to admit I found GITS Arise a bit 'meh' having seen the first two at the BFI anime season earlier this year.

a) I just really can't get the new design of the Major. I know everyone has their favourite, but I think it really spoils the allure of the character.

b) GITS has always had a tendency of being very 'procedural' - which of course is nice in small doses re. setting up the tone, but I found Arise to be very slow, falling into a kind of saggy middle ground. They really feel like long tv episodes, not films - so personally, they lacked a bit of punch for me.

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

Seems like Attack on Titan - Part 2 (both DVD and Blu-ray) will have all of the bonus content included on the second disc; i.e. they aren't going to "strip it off" like they did with Part 1.

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

So, thinking of Picking up DBZ BoG on VOD (to avoid all that nasty PAL Conversion nonsense and to, basicaly, get it in the format I want anyway) and I want to check if the version offered there is the full nine yards.

Re: Manga Entertainment Discussion Thread.

I think it's safe to say Binbougami Ga will be DVD only at this point, both due to lack of denial and the fact that the cover posted for it in the Cover art thread is DVD size.
Don't worry though, the US and AUS versions are both AB so by purchasing either of those you neither have to support Manga's BS or buy their self authored crap.

The same should apply to Ben-To as well (estimated to be AB | 124)

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

Hi guys, just wanted to clarify some details on upcoming releases for you. I've had it confirmed today by Manga HQ that Binbogami ga!/Good Luck Girl and Ben-To will now be released on DVD only. If I can share more information on this when I have it I will, but I just wanted to at least get that confirmed for you all.

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

Thanks Jeremy. It must be frustrating not being able to relay more information, but at least we now have an official answer and people can make their purchasing decisions without confusion.

Re: [UK Anime Distributor] Manga Entertainment Discussion Th

I'm more concerned about the news that the Fairy Tail collections will now be DVD only - as they represent the 'collected' edition. If the only way to get Fairy Tail in HD in the UK is the individual volume releases, then that doesn't bode well for shelf space, or the wallet.
