London MCM Expo coverage

So, now that a lot of people have met Chaos, can anyone confirm if he's safe around children and if he offered any kids at the expo free movie tickets if they sat at the back of the cinema with him?

Safe around children? Yes. I doubt children could hurt me, being the big man I am =)

Surprised you remembered that, but anyway, I've got two tickets for that movie from a competition announced in here, I just moved into town at that time and I was feeling needy :p

BTW, your name came out when asked about someone from the forums I'd like to meet.

I'm over 16 and prefer to sit near to the front of the cinema, FYI. I'm also not fond of candy.

Before taking your word for it, I'm going to question Jayme to see if you tried to offer him any tickets. I've also created a support email: chaostouchedme@gmail.com.

I kind of want to go to one of these events but dressing up seems troublesome, plus I'm not exactly socialable. Big crowds and lots of overly talkitive people trying to make friends aren't my thing. I prefer to keep my interests to myself, the internet aside.

Popcorn and a coke then? I like to sit in the front of the cinema as well. slightly to off centre, as the sound usually is better.

Boys are not my thing =P don't confuse me for some other fellow forum member.
Offer people things.. mm, some forum member offered me a soft drink, what does it means? o.0

dressing up? not necessary. as a matter of fact, I came to the conclusion pants are optional after seeing a few cosplayers today.

Hither twice. I had to sit down for a few minutes to prevent myself getting too excited by all of those characters.

From what I remember from the Manga presentation. They are going to be streaming Anime from both their website and you-tube.
That news must have slipped past me. All I saw were their DVD sales and their adverts for Blood: The Last Vampire.

He may not have stated it absolutely, but he certainly implied it heavily. Especially when he was talking about the delays in releasing the Bleach/Naruto movies and in the future the delays will be shorter.

Update:

Manga.co.uk will begin streaming shows soon (no date yet) aswell as on youtube and Itunes (confirmed so far, Gurren Lagann and FMA: Brotherhood)

Death Note and Naruto's 3rd movie set for Christmas release

Any news regarding Manga releases? (not the group) I know many of us are eager to see if SJ will be mass producing volumes of OP like they did with Naruto considering the speed up in SJ magazine. I believe there was also talk of many titles being brought in line with US releases?

A bit more information gotten from anime on dvd forum, nothing major just a few dates and the price of the guyver box set

Manga.co.uk will start streaming anime soon - it's what the Japanese rights holders want for a certain show.
Manga have Devil May Cry, due in October.
also Guyver, complete box in September for £50
also Sky Crawlers - hopefully late 09, if not early 2010.
Blood the last Vampire Bluray due in October.

Was it FMA: Brotherhood the show mentioned for:

"it's what the Japanese rights holders want for a certain show."

Or maybe be another mysterious show to be streamed later on.

Revelation: No annoucements made.

ADV: Confirmed they will be present at the next expo, no other annoucements.

MVM: Announced taht they will keep their focus on anime, but now they will expand to asian cinema with Osamu Tezuka's inspired live action Dororo and Go Nagai's Cutie honey.
Anime-wise, MVM confirmed titles we already knew about, such as Disgaea, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Gunparade March, Slayers Try, X TV and Aquarion. They also mentioned the releases of Black Lagoon first and second barrage, Berserk and Witchblade box sets .

Beez: Confirmed Code Geass, Gundam 00 and Sword of a stranger. Also mentioned that a partnership is being formed between Beez and Manga for digital streaming, the initial title being Gurren Lagann. Another possible title for streaming would be Gundam Unicorn. The deal would also give Manga distribution rights on iTunes and Xbox live.

Manga: Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Guyver (rescue confirmed with 5 disc box set), Devil May Cry, both Death Note compilation movies, Mamoru Oshii's Sky Crawlers, Tamagochi - the movie and Fullmetal Alchemist - Brotherhood online streaming on Manga's website and You Tube.
Streaming for a Fullmetal Alchemist - Brotherhood and Gurren Lagann will begin soon, but no date has been disclosed yet.
Death Note and Naruto's 3rd movie (Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom) confirmed for a Christmas release.
Manga also mentioned that Ouran High School Host Club is now the best selling shoujo anime in the UK ever, with 1500 sold over 3 weeks from HMV, play and amazon. And Naruto Shippuden won't be coming out this year, as they yet have to complete the original Naruto series.
Manga is also diversifying with live action. First titles announced are Blood and Ichi

The persons from Beez / Tokyopop I've spoke to didn't know much. Also, they do not have announcements as the DVD distributors does, so we don't get to know much. Also, their stalls were so packed everytime I've visited, that it was really hard to get hold of someone to talk about upcoming titles.

No change there then.

What's the point?

Still the only two candles of light in our anime darkness, but I fear the more they go towards platforms like that, the further away I will become from the warmth.

Kind of says it all right there. Now we know why it's called "The Depression".

Here are some images posted by someone on UKA: http://img33.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=35 ... af84eb.jpg

That costume is easy to out together, yet most wouldn't be brave enough. Respect to the lady with a bitch (<3) face who walked around London looking like that, with the lower half of her boobs exposed.

These expos seem to be wondeful things - they allow women to dress up like sluts, without them actually feeling slutty. And they prove that good looking women do watch anime - they just avoid internet geek hangouts.

I like the guy in one of the pictures who is sitting at a table, trying not to look at her arse.

Him: "Must look down to look normal...MUST.....NOT....LOOK...AT....ARSE....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!1"
