Least favourite character!

No. It would be better if Elfen Lied was never made in the first place.
Boo! Shame corner, pronto.

I loved Elfen Lied. I found Nyu's innocence was an excellent contrast to Lucy's negative side - and the two sharing the same body really gave the sense that people are capable of both extremes. I agree that the characters weren't written with extreme depth (Aside from Lucy) but Kurama was definitely one of the show's more interest characters, particularly with how much of a hypocrite he was regarding Mariko.

I have to agree with you there! Normally I watch one episode of an anime, get addicted and watch the hole season in about a day but with Elfen Lied I just didn't feel that way.

i wouldn't use that ( watch one episode and get addicted to get in to it ) there was a guy on here * i think * and he watched 1 episode of gurren largann and he said he didn't like it.........and his replys was huge saying *gurren largann rocks* *you have to keep watching it* *you'll regret not finishing it* ect but elfen lied isn't gurren largann standards

For me I don't have a least favourite character, but like JPT I have a character type that annoys me, and that's the protagonist of just about every Shonen Rom-Com, they're all the **** same!

Second.

That and Nana is about the only likeable character from Elfen Lied, and that's about it really

Ha ha, no. Every character is a goddamn moron or asshole...or both. I have no sympathy for any of them.
Well that IS the whole point of the show
The whole point was to have badly written characters? Fair enough.

Like I already said, the personality change is cheap and stupid.

"I'm an orphan. Sad yet? I had a hard life where kids picked on me. Still no sympathy? Okay how about I remember the time a puppy was beaten to death in front of me. Nothing? How about me killing the protagonist's sister right in front of him?".

There is nothing deep about her. Lucy is just selfish and everything about her is shoved into your face in the hope of making the viewer feel sad. What makes it worse is that the protagonist forgives her for her ********. It's a total cop out just so she can be given a happy ending. At least in the manga he doesn't forgive her.

I like Vash as a comic character but his militant pacifism gets on my tits, especially when his hesitation to kill bad people results in countless deaths of innocent people. Twat!

I sort of agree there, but I also kind of like that about him. I'm not really sure how I feel about it I guess. I think it's pointed out how dumb the philosphy is though with Knives killing the spider to save the butterfly. Vash wanted to save both, which is impossible, since you'd still be killing the spider indirectly by depriving it of food. But I dunno, too tired to think too much about this.

Given how angry a person I am, I dislike surprisingly few characters. But there is one so character so irritating that I wish he actually existed just so I could punch him on the nose. (It didn't help that I watched the show dubbed in which Haberkorn voices the character with his most grating nasally whine.)

/thread
Following on from both this post and the general "types of characters you don't like" angle, I'm voting for every crappy male character in a show that should only really have had female characters anyway.

I actually quite liked Elfen Lied :p

@Animefreak

Although the manga paints a different, and more bizzare picture; there's a lot of agreement that amongst fans that the sillouette seen at the end of the finale of the anime was a returned Lucy with a more coherant, restored personality, rather than the split personalities (and the submerged instinctive personality)
The anime hadn't deviated much from the source, so it's safe to assume it's the scene where she turns back into Nyu semi-permanently. She should be back to the one "human" personality before then.
The OVA s somewhat necessary for elfen lied, as it fixes Lucy and Yuka's personalities somewhat.

This is making me want to re-watch Elfen Lied. I quite liked it, but can remember very few specifics. I do remember thinking of it more as a study on innocence and it's loss; Nyu being entirely innocent and Lucy devoid of any. In Lucy, Mayu and Kouta's cases their innocence was destroyed in pretty horrific ways but they all had different ways of dealing with it. Kouta has repressed his memories enabling him to lead a fairly normal life (until of course it all comes back to him), Mayu's experiences lead her to run away from the people who hurt her; because she herself hasn't done any harm she can get her life back from this state (but through her non-intervention she also allows her abusers to get away with what they did). Lucy however certainly isn't prepared to let her tormentors get away with it and punishes them mercilessly, but as a result she can never get her life back.

Lucy is interesting to me because she illustrates the scale in which people's decisions and actions can have an effect on their subsequent thought processes and personality. When Lucy loses her innocence it is gone for good, but this is partly through her own choice. While I don't deny the fan-service elements of Nyu, she's the blank slate to contrast that with and the only chance Lucy has of a fresh start (which we all know she doesn't get). What could Lucy have been if she hadn't been subject to torment, or if she hadn't reacted to it in the way she did? I think those are the questions posed by Nyu's existence.

i hate all the main characters of needles
reason they dont show mercy or compassion there all crap heroes

That entire series is garbage. It has a few jokes and ecchi scenes yes, but overall it is garbage in my eyes. Idiot characters with idiot personality and design. I kinda liked the story at a few points, but the ending was stupid too. Never gonna watch it again.

But, back to the main topic, my least favourite character is:
Kashiwagi Sae from Peach Girl.

Actually, she is the very first character who I hate so much, that if she was real, I could not hold myself back and I would punch her in the face.
