Knights and Merchants - on PC windows 95
Played a demo of this, but frankly, there are good reasons why no-one ever played this. The food micromanagement was an utter game killer IIRC. Now, the Settlers series. Those were great games. Way to segue into the following list:
Albion - PC RPG made by Blue-Byte. Sci-Fi meets Fantasy world of hippy furries and magic wielding celts for some reason. Being only small, I played the entire thing from a walkthrough. Even then, certain bits were buggy and messed up your progress.
Archemedian Dynasty - Yes, honestly. Someone actually released a game called 'Archemedian Dynasty'. There's probably going to be some hardcore, IT-Management PC gaming type who has played this. Was a Space-Sim except, 'Under the Sea' in a post apocalyptic future where humanity fled to deep sea stations and techno-music somehow managed to remain popular.
Final Fantasy Tactics - The original 'Kill Dycedarg's Older Brother' version. Plenty of people will have played the PSP version which is so, so much better.
Puyo Puyo - People have probably played this brilliant falling-block puzzle game in some form or other (even if only Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine or Kirby's Avalanche), but I'm pretty confident that I've played too many versions of this game for anyone else to out-do me. Haven't played 4, Fever 2 or 7 (it's only been out a month or so anyway
).
System Shock - Ok, so someone has probably played this if they're dabbled in Abandonware at all. Got to the end of it? I have, though not until about five years ago. Visually closer to Teletext than
Doom was, this somehow made it a million times scarier.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together - Final Fantasy Tactics a-like. Sold in very limited quantities (not that I have played a retail copy). Worth hunting down if you're into the Strategy RPG genre for its interesting, multiple path storyline.
