Gacha Games Thread

Grats dude, hope everyone gets luckier with pulls than I did! :)

I did no pre-resource gathering at all for Sunday so now the job is to gear him up and levels and things, should take a couple of weeks of energy refreshes I reckon to kind of get him where I want.

Do you know what time it launches? Steam is still saying soon but not giving a time.

Edit - it seems it's out but Steam version isn't up?! bit of a mess even adding it to Steam if they can't get the version to work. I don't need Steam release really as I can just get the launcher from the website and run it like I do HSR/Nikke but nice to have Steam launchable version if they support it as opposed to another client.

Already live for mobile. Not sure if it's different for PC though. I did the tutorial mission and tbh first impressions are kind of poor. Too much front loaded exposition (Why do all Gacha games do this) and game play is already much weaker than either X-Com or Midnight Suns tutorial missions.
 
I honestly think it's overhyped a bit looking at the gameplay and trailer footage so far, but I'll try it out myself and see as well. Probably later on though.

I need to dive into the HSR 2.7 patch content as well, I don't think any of that is timed or needs lots of daily investment right? at the moment I'm just doing my dailies and levelling up my boy Sunday as I get TB power regen. Almost got him and his LC to 80 but gear and traces is a whole different game I need to invest time into.
 
Yeah I'm thinking the same, plus X-Com 2 was like £2 the other day on Steam and that's a glorious game. If GF2 can't match either that or Midnight Suns then I'm dropping it immediately after today.
 
Nikke wants you to be pulling basically everyone though and going for variety. I like the level system they have with the sync machine and allowing you to just level up 5 characters and those then being reflected on everyone else you add without needing to gear up everyone.

I've pulled 6 SSR characters in HSR so far, and I think in general you can probably clear basically everything today with 8-10 good ones that can fill a variety of weaknesses and rolls.

Having a couple of good sustains lets you run 1 per team in the end-game modes. I feel like I have this now with Aventurine and Lingsha so don't think I'd rush out to pull another sustain yet as I'm just power creeping myself.

Supports I only really have Sunday, and if I build her up some more I guess Bronya as well, but Sunday is just better Bronya.

After this it's variety of DPS really, Acheron is my main carry but she doesn't have a lot of good support options in my units, though I guess Sunday would still work here, and she seems to work pretty well with a Nihility squad of BS/Kafka. Probably what I want out of the new 3.0 units is a great summon DPS to pair with Sunday, and maybe eventually a good support unit on the remembrance path as well.

Once I have my teams and can clear things more easily I will be more inclined to let banners slip and pull on re-runs as I don't want to buy pulls. I don't think I'll need to gun for most light cones either, main reason I wanted Sunday one was because it was very good, and I also lacked the next best option (Bronya one).

Mostly interested in how Aglaea and The Herta look so saving up towards them as best I can.

To begin with, sure, but once you're established, it's not really worth pulling on most banners unless they're an insanely cracked unit. Once you gotten yourself a few meta supports (Liter, the bunnies, Tia/Naga, etc) and a few strong DPS units (ideally a pilgrim) you're pretty much set unless you care about pushing into late campaign or doing well in solo-raids. At that point, you can just skip most banner and just save for limiteds/pilgrims and maybe pull on the occasionally strong regular unit banner. It's probably harder if you're completely f2p, but if you're buying things like the mission passes, you'll have a decent supply of SSR molds and regular banner tickets which can help to fill out your roster.
 
I have some good units I think. Lacking a few like Crown/Blanc but hoping those are just a matter of time to get. Blanc is on wishlist for ordinary banner so more likely but could just luck into a Crown sometime.

Cindy/Redhood are my main core DPS at present. I'm going to see what the new years pilgrim is and probably wind up using gold mileage to get it. May pull for more copies of Winter Maiden as I still have 100 odd pulls in the bank, but going to see what the unit next week is like first (winter guillotine).

Lots of gear/skill/doll investment needed but those seem more a time thing. I broke the 160 wall so just trying to level up the crew as well.

Was gonna say, personally I'd just save, especially if you want Guillotine, though we don't know her kit yet.

Also just a tip, you Cindy is 200, but everyone else is 175. You should ideally be levelling up your five nikke evenly, since the sync machine syncs to the lowest of the five.

Yep I'll do that for now, if she looks good I'll get a copy if I can.

After that I'll probably try and MLB Winter Maiden anyway because I don't really mind just doing pulls, as I get gold mileage + chances for random characters I don't have along the way, I don't really have another method of getting Crown/Blanc either.

I have 500 gold mileage and 100 pulls so even if I burn all my remaining pulls on these banners I'll have 600 gold mileage, which is enough to grab 3 new banner characters, so my thinking here is that I don't even need to pull for NY pilgrim as I can gold mileage them without issue. Even if they do two pilgrims I'm fine here :)

After that it will be saving again and seeing what comes along later on, but I think probably a quiet Jan and maybe Feb so I'd have time to rebuild the coffers.

For Cindy I am aware, I put her there because she was my main DPS carry and I hadn't broken the 160 wall when I did, so I'm just levelling up the other 4 equally from 175 ish now, and will eventually catch all up to Cindy. You can't reset a level 200 either and it shouldn't matter soon.

The collection grows (and Ingrid has her dress). I have a system now: Don't level anyone up to 30 until I have the spare change to buy the discount limited time bundle that unlocks and don't do that until the rotational gacha lands on something I want. That seems to be the cheapest possible way to do the gacha. Given that she's my favourite, I'm actually kind of gleeful about how hard Oboro is dominating at only level 30. She's my second behind Asagi in the arena which means she goes first in the battles, but she's beating characters up to 20 levels above her and Asagi isn't even getting a turn. Even if I'm yet to git gud at playing her, she's remarkably good at playing herself. I think giving her that UR weapon (and upgrading it to +3) was a very good choice. I almost want to shell out to reward her with that New Year kimono, maybe it will come back into the regular costume shop at the end of the month so I can get it for gems instead of money? Probably not, but a man can hope. Speaking of costumes...

Argh. that's 1050 gems (almost enough for another character) but if I get the Christmas outfits that's several more missions I can complete and more potential goodies to earn. But not as good as the ones I can earn for Azusa in her Christmas outfit when she unlocks to plebs like me who don't want to spend real money on the 17th, which I can get basically for nothing from reward points I already have from doing the gacha. Hmm. Limited time outfits and rewards or another girl? I don't even know who to pick next. The sensible move would be to fill the gap I'm lacking which is an assist type demon, so that's Noah, Felicia, Eleonor or Francis. I do have several good weapons for Francis since it's her special limited time gacha on at the moment but then Noah is in the same rotational as Astaroth and Ingrid, which means that would always provide me with something useful. Decisions, decisions.

Generally I will go for characters over outfits personally, especially if I need more team options.

I managed another 11/12 stars in the new AS this cycle, just about anyway.

1st side was easy enough just took Acheron / Aventurine / Black Swan / Kafka

2nd side was more interesting because I don't really have a break team, and this one was screaming break team meta. So I took my poorly invested Sunday who I am still building, and used him as a Lingsha slave. I turned Lingsha into my main damage dealer and sustain.

Team comp was Lingsha / Sunday / Harmony MC / Herta. Worked pretty well in the end thanks to Sunday boosting Lingsha damage and turns, and then just spamming the AOE abilities with her + Herta as much as I could.

I'm going to spend this week getting some additional traces for my core characters as I don't think I have anyone maxed yet, then next week I will build out Sunday gear if I can by farming some for it. I'll park HMC for now as we'll get RMC soon and HMC will probably be forgotten like the previous two trees at that point.

I enjoy slowly building power up, it's giving me nice long term goals, each new character I get requires quite a bit of thought and investment in resource collection.

If I get Sunday ready in time I may look at building Himeko some as I want to use her on fire weak content sometimes, but she's miles off being ready.
