Forum needs a tidy up

i have an idea.....why not assign mods to each different part of the forums, 1 for the general chit chat, 1 for the forum games ect ect.

im on the forums most of the time during the week while at work.

Just to reiterate my point:

Besides, even Paul on his own hasn't got much to do in the way of moderating (not that we can see anyway), so mods aren't needed.

really wouldn't waste my time arguing over this, thats why i said "whatever" if you feel that is unfair for me to openly announce my opinion and feel i was being snippy with you then maybe a reality check is in order? maybe stop being so paranoid? ofcorse...that is only an opinion

@Tachi: As I said, I think everyone should shut up and let Paul decide. As Maxon said, those advertising themselves for a MOD place will probably not get picked. We only joined this year, as such its stupid us even thinking of getting MOD positions. Ryo and Arbalest are the best for the job cause they've been here a long time, from what I can tell lots of people get on with them, and they seem fair.

Now, shall we just wait for Paul to speak??

To be honest I used to spend a lot of time here, I still log in every day and spend a lot of time wandering around the posts, thats kinda all I have to do in a job that is 90% waiting for stuff to happen.

But recently I have started coming here less and less mainly due to the fact that when I see 3 pages of new thread updates and there all games it kinda just makes me log out again rather than trawl through all the pointless thread boosting games, I didn't mind one or two pointless ones as they're fun where your bored but now there are more games going than decent anime threads.

Sorry to rant, none of this intended to be offensive (sometimes what i write comes out that way), and Paul you are doing a bang up job mate I love this forum and its the only anime one I go to as i love it so much. Cheers

i think that's what sort of sparked off myself and arby's original comments

when you look back at what i personally class as the golden age of AUKN, it's almost depressing how many good, regular forum members have moved on to pastures new, and it was something that may of pushed the last of us original members out

I fought for that, Yagami. Because there were forum section that have Forum Games in, and since it was quite popular but made it messy, I requested and fought for an 'Ever enduring forum games'.

So no, I like to have it stay here... for a tidier forum. All I want is a post count disabled in that section. So meh =P

I'd ask to go one step further and bin a load of the more pointless threads, I don't mind one or two but there are some really pointless ones in there and thats leading the forum becoming flooded all the time.

I say we keep it. The reason it was made in the first place is so those of us who don't just want to boost out post counts won't have to sift though topics to find one that isn't spam games.

Yeah...Forum Games goes, people make their stuff in Random (it used to be full of it), and then everyone can moan about Random being a mess!

If people want to pop on for a few minutes and play some trivial word games, what harm are they causing? If the mere presence of these games makes your blood boil, just y'know...don't go in there! =|

More than anything, I don't see how it takes anything away from potential discussion. If anything does, it's the blogs.

Not that I've got an issue against them or anything (obviously, seeing as I'm in on the thing), but you need to realise: people are spending time waxing lyrical in their blogs, when they could be posting more or less the same thing on the forum and get a discussion going.

I realise there's some stuff like DA stuff, Chocolate Review and the bits of tripe I spew that aren't really full-on thread material, so fair enough...but maybe if people were willing to put as much effort into discussion on here as they are for their Wordpress or Blogspot or whatever, maybe this place would be "better".

Just to repeat in case: I'm not saying "get rid of the blogs"!

Seconded. I'm all for the sensible Forum Games (or any that make me laugh for that matter) so maybe restrict "a few" of them... but deleting the entire thing isn't the best idea. Possible try and narrow the games down "slightly" to something more anime/manga related?

Citizengeek... If you were here ages ago before the 'Forum Game' Section existed, there were quite a few forum games in the Random Chit-chat, which I find very annoying =P

Sure... Paul can lock them and delete them. But how often he is on here, seriously =P
