Death Note: The Manga

I was looking at Vol 1 in waterstones
it seems to be quite an interesting series

espescally the different amount of deaths criminals go through lololol

scuse me, i'm kindda sadistic

I've just finished volume 5 of death note and I love it - Its a killer page turner and a really interesting and exciting read - I'm quite good at figuring things out ahead but this has always been about 5 steps ahead of me! Its the kind of twist that you never expect but when it's revealed you think "Hang on thats actually feasable! How come I didn't think of that?!"

My favourite character so far is Light (as I would probably would try and create a utopia with the death note too ) although I have started to like L just for his wierdness

Lol, omg, srsly guys.
Are you serious? That's so frickin' lame, Just by looking at the cover. Although - I can't lie. I'm eager to see what they do with the story. I'm going to read it as soon as possible.

These Psychological Battles never have a end. =p

Just read it, And it was meh. Not much really happened. It was good to see some off the characters again, But it was a bit pathetic for a one shot. They have set themselves up for another series now, And I think I might actually read it.

Wow, older Near! Awesome! I seriously need to get on with collecting and reading the Death Note manga. By the time I have all 12 volumes, this special should be close to release in English.

I just finished reading it. It wasn't very good.

To be honest, Lupus, I think everyone will be taking your opinion of Death Note (or anything that's in any way popular) will a massive grain of salt. I know that's exactly what I'm doing! ^_^

I don't think we'll see the special on its own in the near future, The only logical way off it being translated properly is if they were to put it in a issue off their Monthly Shonen JUMP. Its 50 pages, One chapter basically. They done it with Naruto's One Shot and linked it with the first few pages off Part 2.. And that was quite a flimsy release.. More like something that would come free, And really it did because it was the Naruto Shadow Box.

After just watching the Three Hour Special off Death Note just now, I have reaffirmed by faith in that its a good story if a bit annoying. This One Shot for Death Note was a bit off a disappointment though. Not much happened except Near ranting on about It isn't the "real" kira. I think the only reason they done it was to open it up for another story (not linked at all with this). I wouldn't be surprised at all if it started another serialization soon... And Really! I think I would still read/watch it along with all the other never-ending Shonen stories I keep up with.

Go right ahead, by all means don't listen to me, I honestly read it with low expections and got nothing new. Just a cheap cash in, which was obviously made to see the reception in Japan to what if Death Note carried on, and if this was recieved well in Japan expect "DESU NOTO SERIES 2!"

As far as i know, there a no plans for a second series but a one shot, long chapter has just been released, taking place several years after the story.
