Vedict - AWESOME - A true next gen game
Played - PC Version
Been playing it all day (yes I got it a day early) and have been stunned by every second of gameplay. The training mission is in two parts one part is based in an SAS training centre including a mock shooting area you have to complete within a set amount of time and then you are taken to a huge tanker on the ocean and get to try it for real against enemies.
The voices are good if at times a little funny and help set the scenes, and the story is well thought out with plenty to keep casual and hardcore gamers engrossed.
UPDATE
I have managed to play some more of Act One since my first review and I have to add to this... The range of missions is staggeringly original, rather than just having the usual open fire missions with a few escort or tank driver events this game has come up with some astonishingly original levels.
Two of these original missions are also fave's, for the snipers out there one level has you in full gillie suit moving through enemy territory with one other sniper, you have to choose targets carefully and even move through an enemy camp with hundreds of troops without being seen and this is truely a superb level for those sniper fans out there.
The other level involves firing from a Hercules (think Transformers movie where they take down the desert scorpion), the Herc circles a battle field and you have a choice of 3 different gunning mounts heavy, medium and light rounds of ammo and have to clear out any enemies before a convoy goes through the area which is brilliant fun as long as you don't hit your own men.
This is a HUGE game which is definately something pleasing to know because i am sick of games with all the looks and style but end so fast (MOH: Airbourne is a prime example). The game is made up of a Prologue (training mission) and then 3 Acts, I am still on Act 1 but it is a huge area with multiple types of missions to keep me busy and stop me from getting bored of repetative open fire missions.
Well worth buying if your PC can handle it
Update
Multiplayer Oh my god its amazing, the graphics and gaming flow is identical to the single player game but with lots of other extras
Design your own character class is a brilliant idea, you start off with the 4 basic classes:
Special Forces
Soldier
Sniper
Demolition
As you kill and capture more areas these classes become upgradeable in the following ways:
-Change your camoflage
-Add camoflage to weapons
-Upgraded Weapons
-New Weapons
You can the add the weapons and camo to your chosen character and make them unique to your own playing skills.
