Beez Entertainment Discussion

Very wild card shot here, as i know Beez don't own Anime Central, but do provide anime that "were" shown on it.

But do you have any info why the channel has only been repeating Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop, when it had Beez shows like Gundam Seed, and S-Cry-Ed that it could be showing?

Is my assumtion that they only had a contract to show the 26 episode series twice and Gundam Seed once correct?

ps, i know any knowledge of this is probually not even available but if you can even give us a sniplet of a hint it would be helpful, as at the moment, even if this big "AC annoucement" does come at the London Expo, i fear it may be too late to save the channel now.

Heh, I was wondering when I was going to be asked about this. Sadly I can't talk about the specifics obviously as that would be bad business - but what I can say is that I don't believe, to best of my knowledge, any announcements about AC will be made at the event.

I know though that Mark over at Anime Central is working his hardest just now to get everything finalized though so hopefully soon they'll be able to update you on their situation. All I can say is don't give up hope yet anyway - and I'm sorry you're stuck with just Bebop and GitS on it just now :/. Was it in my power I'd have changed that already for you all though!

Will be hearing about any new announcements soon? There's a few titles that I'm hoping you pick up (Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Gundam 00) ^_^

Should have more news progressively over the summer UK convention season so watch this space!

Also coming soon probably to this thread news of vouchers for Expo ^^!

Just wondering how successful the Gunbuster 2 sub only release was in the UK. Haven't heard much about it since the initial press release, and wondering if it was successful enough for Beez to consider doing other releases in a similar fashion, as it seems a cost effective way of releasing niche titles.

I'd say better than expected as shown by stock shortages at present! How much that is influenced by the US version of the release is another question though. I would say if a dub is available I'd include that as well though so it all depends on the release format of the title in the US and what materials are or are not available for it really...

A lot of stores still haven't got it. Including the HMV I preordered from :s so I suppose their early sales figures won't be a fair spread yet.

Really sorry your HMV hasn't got it yet :S. I've chased this up and it seems to be a short stocking has slowed send out. It's been surprisingly popular compared to what we thought it would be, I'm pushing for more stock to be sent soon but if you've been left waiting an unreasonable amount of time PM me and I'll see what can be arranged or at least update you on the progress :).

Don't worry andrew, I'm a patient lass :) I blame HMV entirely for being useless (it's not the first time!), not Beez.

Good to hear it's been doing ok! Fans would be nuts not to give it a try, a nostalgia-tinged helping of Gainax in one nice, budget-friendly package. Mm.

Cheers for that Andrew, atleast you gave us an answer that gives hope that the channel isn't about to die, which is all we're asking for ;)

I've been hearing a rumour that Anime Central has been taken over by team G.I Joe in retaliation for their show being taken off the air.

Would you be able to confirm or deny this story?

Please say your releasing something new at the Expo as i already own pretty much everything of yours already.

Should be, news on that as soon as I have it for exactly what stock I will and won't have :)! I'll be chasing it up and finalizing deals/prices this week - expect some pretty good deals especially on boxsets too :).

I got it on PLAY.com, so no problems there.

ill just get it from play.com........question say if somthing is temp out of stock how long would it take to arrive?

Belated response but we've been rushed off our feet of late I'm afraid!

It means that it will be back in stock as soon as they get more from Pinnacle's warehouse. Last I checked there's still stock at Pinnacle so it shouldn't have taken long to restock :).

Can anyone give me an idea, or even a picture, of the type of packaging used for Gunbuster 2? A customer review on Amazon says this: "...unusual clear plastic holding system, which looks easily breakable - as mine was after delivery".

It won't stop me buying it but I'd like to know what I'm getting nonetheless.

Hello, stumbled across this site while looking for something. Is there a reason, or are the retail sites wrong, as the Haruhi volume 1 release (UK) has been moved from the 26th to the 9th of June

Considering:

with monthly consecutive UK DVD releases slated to begin on the 24th of May (at the London Expo) and running through to 8th August (the final volume will be debuting at UK anime convention AmeCon 2008).

I don't know if it's a mistake or not.

It's a very slim digipack with two discs layered on top of one another on the right hand page and the left "page" just card. Mine was fine but I can imagine if someone ships it on its own and handles it very roughly the plastic might be damaged if not bought from a company which packs its deliveries properly.
