Animefreak17 And His All-Purpose General Chat Thread

I dont think that would happen for a long time if it were to happen, as the collections are just a re release of the voyages but with new packaging and double the episodes on each set. If funimation were able to get the license for the movies (they have released movie 8 ) then they will most likely be released individually as that is the case in Germany and France at the moment.

Agreed, single movies then double packs etc are more likely than straight to collection. Movies like Strong World which were massive successes are going to need strong singles sales.

hey this has been bugging me to no ends but.........
you know series like.............
gundam
well gundam has wing, seed, seed destiny, 00, the movies, ect do all these count has one series or are they separate ( not as in separate storys) * I was counting how many anime series i got to go though and i counted wing, seed, seed destiny, 00, the movies as one series but im not sure. what you guys think

I'd do them all separately, other than perhaps things like Seed/Destiny where the 'second season' has a different name but very much follows directly on. Of course the older UC Gundam shows blend together a bit more.

As far as I recall, the Gundam series is put in different time-lines for each season. So one could watch them in any order they want , since they're all fighting different wars

There are a few, 00 and Turn-A, that are set in alt-universes, but the main timeline is the Universal Century. Wikipedia has a nice little thing about the Calendar they use. Instead of writing it all up and quoting, why don't you head on over there and read it yourself.

Put as simply as i can, here are the series you can watch without having to watch others:

Gundam 00 - based in our AD universe
Gundam Wing - i can't remember, but i think this is universe After Colonisation(AC)
Gundam SEED then SEED Destiny - CE(Cosmic Era) - SEED then destiny, if you can bare destiny of course
G Gundam - more like a super mech series than the rest - Future Century(FC)
Gundam X - in the After War(AW) universe

You could technically watch ∀ Gundam as well(Turn A Gundam) which is CC(Correct Century) which attempts to get all of the series released up to Wing into one timeline, but is based way into the future, but that's up to you.

After that, everything else is in Universal Century.

So it's up to you where you awnt to start, but with UC, you want Mobile SUit Gundam, then Zeta, then ZZ, then you have OVAs, films and Unicorn all based after or inbetween
