AnimeCentral; a new anime TV channel coming to the UK?

This could really take off this channel, if handled correctly. It would probably be wise to expand the programming as well maybe scoring the rights to Japanorama and Adam and Joe go to Tokyo.

Yeah. It might be interesting if they did that. I just hope that they can get people to present and voice-over better than The Claw. The Princess pwned his ass.

...*Zooms into Conan-san's brain, it shows that it equates "The Claw" to meen "Doctor Claw, Zoom out...*...Moe is thier leader.

All you people on VM whinging that you can't see it on "freeview", let me tell you a little known secret. The Sky box is a "freeview" box too. That's right, if you get Sky on one of their introduction deals then don't renew the subscription the box becomes basically a "freeview" box showing all the "free" channels that even VM could never show. The other beauty is if you have a Sky+ box you can continue recording on it for only £10 a month subscription of it's licence. Check out their deals here, stop whinging, and do something about it. For all you kiddies still living with your parents, remember pester power works.

But. . .The downside being. Its not full freeview, its SKY's interpretation of freeview. It doesn't include quite a lot of freeview channels that should be there. It doesn't even have E4.

Also Freeview is brand andc a service within itself anyway now run (in whole or in part) by the BBC (I think). Also do consider the cost of this stuff. Most of us "whingers" without most likey cannot afford it.

I agree! If this channel ends up handling anime like RaptureTV, then it´s in trouble! But, if they do a good job at promoting it (getting Japanorama and Johnathan Ross would be a good start) and maybe show some children´s anime in the morning, this channel could be a really big success!

I actually think some comedy would help as well say the Boondocks? Not strictly anime but heavly infulenced by it even has a spoof Samurai Champloo style opening.

Interesting. Although all that can be gotten from that logo is that they might be looking for a teenage-adult audience. The complete lack of an actual site does mean that things look like a long way off.

But its way better than just a domain.

NEWS FLASH
It is a new channel on Sky starting in September running from 9pm to 6am showing Gundam Seed, FMA, Planetes Bleach, Bebop, .HackWolf's Rain and some Transformers.
Will post more later (currently hijacking computer at front of room).

Really? Hmm, 9pm till 6am sounds like their going for an adult swim type thing, not all that of an impressive lineup though in my opinion, do we really need FMA and Wolf's Rain again?

Also quite a strange line-up considering its supposedly a venture by Manga, I would have expected Gits:Sac at least...
