UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Bruh I ordered stuff in the UK within minutes of the christmas sale going live in the UK and it hasn't even been dispatched yet, how is it arriving tomorrow for you.
I was thinking something similar: Getting a delivery half-way round the world, and through whatever customs at each side. All before those of us in the same country have even had theirs considered for dispatch.
(I just know the fulfilment centre each day keeps taking a look at the size my order and thinking how it’s too much work!)

GwG should have ordered the mystery boxes: would be the first to find out the contents. Possibly the only one this side of Xmas.

I think the speed of shipping depends on the titles you choose. Anime Ltd doesn't have everything in stock, even if it looks like it. I remember buying Gunbuster CE at a sale and they even offered to ship it without it, but I preferred to wait rather than pay customs fees several times. They sent the package after over a month.

Now I have an order where two items were listed as "sold out," but they went back on sale the next day, and I'm wondering if that means I'll have to wait a while.

Anyway, I can wait. I have a backlog anyway, so I wouldn't even watch most of it right away and would just like to have it already. I'm more interested in ordering Perfect Blue UHD, but maybe it'll ship soon. They shipped the Arcane S2 CE to me on Friday, and I might get it tomorrow or Thursday, which is really quick.

I bought Arcane S2 i CE edition, due to fact that looks amazing, I remember how quick S1 was sell out (and I almost didn't manage to buy it) and my membership will be disappearing in next 2 days.
Considering how Arcane Season 2 was not as well received by the audiences as the first season I don't think the CE edition for season 2 will sell out as quickly.
I love how I was right about this cause Arcane S2 CE Edition is still available on AL's shop.

Has anything been mentioned on the schedual for Anime Limiteds 12 days of Christmas.

So does it still "runs until 5PM on Saturday, 13th December!"?

As in is the final flash sale still on at "5PM each and every day through to December 11th"
Or is it now the 12th Dec at 5PM or still the 11th with just 2 flash sales essentially released on the same day?

There does appear to be something up with Royal Mail collecting orders from AL's distribution partner though - I received my dispatch notice for Cyberpunk on Monday, but it still hasn't been collected from the warehouse by Royal Mail nearly 48 hours later...?

@Hanners - do you have any insight on this?

What does your RM tracking say? Delays and extra time for delivery is pretty common - the whole delivery process is just slower at this time of year due to increased volume and chronic understaffing from RM themselves.

It's just unfortunate that the 12 days of Christmas sale is also directly after all the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals, so delivery offices are currently rammed with BF parcels and all the Christmas shopping and letters that have recently ensued.

I wouldn't worry too much - one year it took 10+ working days for the tracking to update on one of my Christmas sale orders, after receiving a despatch email. You will get your order 99.9% of the time.

A lot of the time, RM will collect parcels from businesses and it won't receive a scan (tracking update) until it's entered the nearby delivery office. However, because the delivery offices are absolutely packed at this time of year, many parcels are not scanned into the RM system until they've cleared what they're already working on to deliver - which means it looks like your parcel hasn't been picked up or made any progress yet.

The reason they do this is because RM24 and RM48 are tracked services and they need to keep to company targets for delivering within the suggested timeframe of these services - once a RM24/RM48 parcel is scanned into the RM system, that's when the clock starts. Which is why they don't scan in every single parcel as they receive it, otherwise they would miss their targets on a lot of parcels (according to their computers, anyway).

So while it may take longer for you to get your order, in RM's system it looks like it was delivered in good-ish time. Your parcel will likely be sitting in a delivery office right now, but simply not scanned into the system yet.

Well my copy of devilman has finally moved from the jubilee MC to my local mail center. Was suppose to be delivered today before 12 but appears to have hit another road block in the royal mail system.

Still waiting for cyberpunk and my 12 day of Christmas order to be dispatched.
I kind of wished some of these CE were delayed until the new year, so we didn't have a perfect storm of anime limited and royal mail being busy.

Usually, what we see happen here is that Royal Mail collect the parcels (which are collected in bulk due to the sheer number), then they don't get scanned on collection or receipt at the depot until they're processed at some stage further down the line. While there are occasions where parcels are still at the fulfilment centre, more often than not they've left the premises and are with Royal Mail regardless of what they say, frustratingly.

If you were being less accommodating, you could suggest that Royal Mail aren't scanning items during busy periods so that the clock doesn't start on their delivery SLA...

Mate, you need to understand something: @Girls with Guns is a BIG fish; bigger than the one depicted in Skwiggles avatar. 🐋 They get expeditated delivery to the other side of world, with order(s) sent before they could even cancel (whilst UK day1 orders are still waiting), and are STILL upset over this Chaika-denying speed, precisely because of this. Their orders are large and many~
If one were to look at Skwiggles avatar, and imagine AL the 🐈 and Girls the 🐟, it might help clarify a few things. Please try to understand that AL have priorities, and be respectful towards Girls. He/she/they have Chaika needs. Oui!

...There is also a secondary, possibly bigger factor: AL would've prioritised two things: preorders as they stated because they were paid for months ago, and international orders. Whilst the latter may seem utterly backward, there would've been few international orders vs boatloads of UK ones. And they'd obviously need be sent way in advance to arrive by xmas.

International ordering aside, the issue is less that, and more AL being AL. I had thought in my absense lessons had been learned.... but, as my traumatised friend @fabio de lunatico hinted, they have not.
'Tis a recipe to disaster to A) release 3-4/5 preorders during the sale (do it Nov or Jan, especially now no prerders are added during the sale!), B) to only send international xmas orders whilst those preorders are sent, and C) let everyone know essentially some will have to wait till after xmas after the fact. If I were to be less accomodating, I'd blame this over RM ineptitude, but as I'm not: it's just very unfortunate, indeed~

On the plus side, I only ordered Bleach BOGOFFs from the sale, and plan to hold off on using my 10%er until the very end. I only want 'em to fill my box, so I can merrily wait till the next of never.
All thus far is just as keikaku for me, much like for Anime Limited. (note: keikaku means plan)

No Cyberpunk as of yet. Hopefully tomorrow.
