I can't really tell if the Steelbook is 4K-only, or a 4K/Blu-ray combo. It says UltraHD Blu-ray on the spine, but Amazons listing isn't clear, it says Blu-ray at the top but only 4K in the description. I already have 2 or 3 copies of this movie on Blu-ray, but it still would be nice for this to be a combo pack. I basically just want it for the steelbook, to add to my anime steelbook collection.

I hope we get the Hosoda 4K(s) over here too, would be nice to upgrade the old Funi Blu's.

TGWLTT is one of my favourite films, so if Anime Limited could put together a nice 4K CE, that would be fantastic.

I would say so, AL have often collaborated with GKids and they announced they've licenced most of Hosodas movies at MCM.

I wasn't expecting a 4K so that's a nice surprise. Is it safe to assume The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Wolf Children will also be getting 4K's I wonder as all three movies were licensed at the same time.

And if AL / GKIDS will go back and give Mirai a 4K as well.

Just to clarify: I don't know exactly what Anime Ltd announced - but KSM Germany announced all 4 movies as 4K UHD: Wolf Children, Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time & The Boy and the Beast - all for a 2025 release and obviously part of the same licensing deal Anime Ltd signed (as both, KSM & Anime Ltd, are part of Plaion)

So it's likely that if The Boy and the Beast can't get a UK release due to licensing restrictions, there should be hope for a US Blu-ray - and by Standard (well, I know Weathering with You did not follow this rule) a 4K UHD Disc should be region free.

Looks like the replacement copies also shipped yesterday as I have a new UK tracking number listed on my postal service account but have no active UK orders atm.

Looks like HMV are breaking out the 'standard' 4K with an exclusive cover before AL have even announced one.

That normally wouldn't happen as quickly but it seems demand for the steelbook and CE exceeded expectations and both pretty much sold out by time of release. There was some availability of the CE post release, but not much.

Exactly this - this was very much a "by popular demand" requirement for Godzilla Minus One as the other 4K UHD SKUs sold through so quickly.

I used a package forwarding company called 'Tiptrans'. Signed up, got German address, away we go.

Hopefully film better than last one, mind: CG drone warfare pre-Ukraine. Steelbook + Ryo's past tempted me.

PS: I hate how only French/Germans etc get the CH/Angel Heart manga. More interested in that than anime these days, as anime amps of mokkori daftness.

The Italian and French sets are identical to the German one, same steelbook and disc.
