UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Aye, Gionanni, Hokusai and a second copy of Terror in Resonance for me~ The latter is quite a blast on price. I paid about twice for my own copy and I know just the right person to foist it onto~ (Though I think I wouldn't mind going the Jaygsba route to have a second copy for enshrinement either.)

Kind of surprised to see Eureka up there again. Wonder if that means there is hope for A Silent Voice to have a chance to appear too? Might not, given it's almost OOP, but I think I'll hold onto ordering them from Amazon in this case.

I don't know anything about fixed shipping rates, but that may explain it, if this is the case.
You pay 11.5 whether you buy one or buy the whole catalogue empty. Which is why I always try to rally a couple of co-orderers for an order.

Why make these sales if they are losing money and barely braking even to begin with? This makes no sense.
Warehouses cost renting money. Sometimes it's cheaper to even pay for ditching the stuff into the trash than to keep it there any longer.

Shipping costs are insane everywhere. I can forget about shipping anything outside my own country.
The UK are among the particular bad internationally, too. Several countries have specific rates for printed matter, the UK does not. UK's Royal Mail/Parcelforce EU shipping is even more expensive to Germany is as expensive as overseas shipping from the US to Germany. It's even twice almost twice if you want to send something from UK to US. I just recently discovered a cheaper way to send within Europe from the UK, but I have not seen any shop offering that option or using it all that much either.
It's kind of mindblogging when you start to consider the prices per distance. (The UK is less far away than the furtherest corner of Germany. USA and Japan are obviously even more far away.)

Is anyone able to tell me how tall the Miss Hokusai ultimate edition is/is it the same height as AL other CE? I only have limited space for my Blurays and want to display them all together (which is why in the past I had to skip the Giovanni's Island UE)

That's a negative - Eureka Seven is a one-off here as a chance to revisit the prior early bird deal, so don't expect similar for any other very recent titles! :)

Ugh, a large feeling of regret when I now look at my bookshelf and see the standard blu-ray release of Escaflowne... Oh well, I'd find it hard to find a place for the box anyway... that's what I'm telling myself...

Just a quick question for the AL team. I'm interested in picking up Miss Hokusai & especially Escaflowne, but I recall there being an issue regarding subs on one of the latter's disks. Has the issue been resolved in the batch of Ultimate Editions being sold, and/or is the replacement scheme system still be open to those who pick the set at this point in time?

As stated in our product listing for Escaflowne, we are including the replacement disk with all shipments going out as part of this deal:

When this product was originally released a glitch was discovered on Blu-ray disc 3, where the subtitles on episode 9 displayed incorrectly. A replacement disc of this will be included in the parcel with the product for you, correcting the glitch.

Ah, I must have glossed over that. Thanks for the reminder.

So let's take stock for a second. So far in the last month I've picked up A Silent Voice, Your Name, In This Corner of the World, Eureka 7, Hyouka, Outlaw Star, Anthem of the Heart, Nichijou, And Yet the Town Moves, and now Miss Hokusai & Escaflowne. And it's still only the first of December. This is going to get worse before it gets better....

Arg, I just realized the 29,99 for A Silent Voice on Amazon UK is gone. Holding off obviously was a bad idea. And no EB price repeat confirmed, too. Oh daaawn.
