UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

The Blu-ray is going to look the same as the Bandai Visual release and these are just the DVD comparisons..right?
Suggests the AL HD screencaps appear lower quality than the Bandai ones (although to me they don't look any different). If that wasn't your intention I'm sorry qaiz, but I'm not sure how else that statement could have been taken.

Oh, No I was just confused because they have two images from the same scene, the 'Image from older footage' looks kinda crappy while the 'Image from HD Remastered footage' looks great and like the Blu-ray I own (Bandai Visual), so I was just wondering where the 'Image from older footage' came from...is it the old DVD, or the DVD they are releasing now or an old Blu-ray? I'm just really confused. The New screens are from the Anime Limited Blu-ray right, which in turn is identical to the Bandai Blu-ray release, correct? The old screens are from where? Hopefully you can see where the confusion is coming from, although it's probably a simple misunderstanding.

Ah, okay. It seemed like you were suggesting the HD screencaps on the AL site only looked DVD quality ("these are just the DVD comparisons..right?") which struck me as a bit baffling, so we've managed to confuse each other quite nicely there!

I'm fairly confident the worse quality caps are simply comparisons to how much better the new version looks compared to an old SD DVD release, and that nothing AL will be releasing is going to look like that - The BD should look like the HD caps, and I imagine the DVD will look like a downscaled version of those same HD caps.

Hah sorry about that. Yeah I think on the podcast Andrew and the crew were talking about how impressed they were with how the DVD quality turned out with some of them mistaking it for the Blu-ray, a bit hyperbolic I'm sure but I also think that the DVD will look good too in the end. The set looks to be shaping up nicely but I'm super happy with the set I already have and content wise this seems to be the same (down to the booklet which is the same too) apart from the packaging which is a digipak in this case as apposed to the two white keep cases Bandai went for, which I prefer. Back in the early days of Bandai Blu-ray sets which came in keep cases, I kind of miss that :p

In any case, glad this is finally getting its release in the UK, uncut so that people can enjoy this masterpiece in HD. Can't fault Anime Limited for the portfolio of releases so far, outside of the newer acquisitions and such which isn't to my tastes but necessary to drive traffic since that stuff is more popular that the older stuff at times, which breaks my heart but alas. Love it when they acquire older classics like Perfect Blue and this and even not so old shows like Baccano.

Do i spot the sign of the real collector there :D
No, the sign of a real collector is getting three copies so you can display the wraparound art on a shelf (doesn't apply to KLK's box, but I have known people who have actually done this)

I believe they were all done from scratch - they all had different animation credits (and notable different style at times).

Which is part wonderful part dreadful. A whole lot of work put into something that didn't really pay off.
I thought it paid off big time. I genuinely can't remember a run of multiple episodes of TV anime that I thought was more compelling that Endless Eight.

Some pretty high chances among that list - some less so than others but there's no title I dislike - maybe one or two I feel wouldn't really fit in our label but you never know...

Don't worry about it, like I said, its obvious that the response in regards to the box has been very positive by everyone here and on your social media channels to say the least and again I noted the surprise that you went out of your way to not only delivery one of the more requested items for the KLK set but also put effort into the box itself instead of going to easy way out, I guess I've just been burned plenty times over and in the end prefer the easy way. The stripes was just a silly ocd gripe, one that I have whilst understanding why it's designed the way it is in the first place and again is something that 99.99% of the people buying this will have no issues with, because in the end there is no issue. Is the lid hinged or removable? Because if it was removable then that would be a lot better.

It's removable - I only would do hinged if I had something like a Gurren Lagann style cover where I could lose hours in the office making the box talk to me by moving the hinge. Thankfully for all minions in office, this is not a concern for KLK ;)!

In any case, I will watch the release on the sideline and will resume purchasing Anime Limited goods when I'm personally happy with the way things are heading and the way this box turns out for people will play a role in that, but for now I wait. As it goes, I've been burned too many times and...I've got enough on my hands with those stupid Amiibo's...

Fair play :)!

The comparison is in fact to the original pilot video we have - which for record was never restored ala the actual film itself so we felt that was the best way to give a source comparison given it matches it's last UK release basically down to a tee :)!

Hope that helps and happy Easter folks,

@Andrew Is Tiger and Bunny - The Rising delayed? Amazon seem to think it's end of May release now.

Adding to this, any reason for Amazon stating WOH CE is unavailable? :( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00M ... ge_o06_s00

That generally means it's sold out on pre-orders (video game limited edition sets generally get this kind of response). I'm sure Andrew will send another batch to them for more pre-order space.

I already asked this here before, but since I got no answer, thought I'd try again, just because I'm stubborn :p

Does any UK company have the rights for Eureka Seven? I know Beez had them (at least I think so, since I own the Beez DVD releases), but if they're available, what are the odds of Anime Ltd snatching them up and releasing an Ultimate Edition on Blu-ray? Because I'd buy the hell out of that :p

I'd say it's a glitch - I'm unsure why it's been pulled but we'll have to wait for Tuesday to figure it out >_<.

For TB Rising sadly yes delayed due to delivery of assets from the licensor so packaging is on course but discs taking longer (check discs this week). Should be on target for MCM Expo though!

He just disappeared and I've never had an answer from anyone else who knew him. His "Fabservice" blog stayed live (without updates) for a while but the images started going dead and I think it's gone dark entirely now as I can't find it.

Well, you could of had Senketsu's face on the front of the box, with the inside of the box being red, so when it was opened and closed it would look like he was talking...
