Thanks Andrew, guess was less work to filter that list :)

@NormanicGrav, interesting but i haven't noticed this myself. Will check again today, as i still have the original too. I can't throw anything away ... is this characteristic for a collector ?

Probably just me being picky but it does look weird if you get a closer look though.

Only thing i noticed, but i have to look really close then, is that the print seems somewhat less sharp. For me that's no problem, it's such a small thing.

Or did you mean something else with the replacement spine part being worse than the original ?

Always love reading the Newswire. All of those delays. It's not too bad, though, spreads out a lot of the dates so I won't have to spend my money all in one go.

I just hope Baccano is released on time. The release I'm most looking forward to.

Trying our best right now, currently in approval hell but making headway.

I third the excitement for the podcast - will be great to have it back, the Manga one was my regular commute listening for ages.

The only podcasts that I listen to are gaming ones (Mega64 and Giant Bombcast etc) so I'm very interested to add this to the list. I wonder what the podcast will entail, I assume everything and anything anime from around the globe as well as what is essentially an audio version of the anime limited newswire? And the plan is to have it once a week? Wonder how long it'll be. the Mega64 podcast for example is around 1 hour 20 minutes on average while the Bombcast is around 3 hours+ average. Hopefully they'll have an email segment where they could answer questions, both specific to their releases as well as general silly questions lol.

The Manga ones were generally an even mix of new release announcements, more general chatter/industry discussion/Japanese culture (especially when they had Jonathan Clements on) and a Q&A section gathered from fans' questions on social media - props to Manga, these were often very honest, especially about issues like sales figures and success of certain titles compared to others.

I didn't think the Baccano CE price would drop so low, but £36 (before postage) is a pretty good price (especially if it turns out to have quite a few extras).

That's an absolute steal - especially if, like you say, it comes good on tons of extras.

Some great prices going on from Anime Ltd. at the moment, like the Tiger & Bunny double pack and also the Shinkai double-pack (which went down to around £14 at one point I think?)

To be completely honest we won't know how frequent it will be or what direction we'll be taking the show until we've got the first episode (or possibly the first few) in the can. I have a ton of ideas on where we could go with it, but at the same I (and more importantly we, Team AL, as a whole) want it to be an informative, fun and useful programme too. But at the very least once a month, not including any extra/bonus episodes or perhaps convention based material there may be. (Like I said, there's a ton of ideas I have for this but until ball is rolling is difficult to say for sure.)

Oh and I fully intend to have a community segment in there as well :)

Possibly MCM October?! for real? What a beautiful surprise :3 Do you know if you have to split up the season yet or not? I thought maybe as its one cour, a whole set might be possible?

We're doing complete Season 1 so fear not there :). Season 2 (Tokyo Ghoul Route A) will come not super long after all going well given it's being simulcast-dubbed in the USA just now :).

Best,

AP

Cool! I wouldn't mind either way tbh, your releases make it worth buying parts for & I'm not a fan of part releases so that's saying something.

Happy to hear about the speed of which you're able to get the show out, with dub and all. Story time: My dear mother is very interested in the show since I explained the synopsis (she saw the OP on youtube when she asked me to send her the Spice & Wolf OP, cause she loves that show & the light novels) and where she loves the Japanese (it sounds "cool" to her hahaha) she does watch shows I lend her while doing her ironing so dubs are convenient ;)

I'd love to see.. Sorry hear Jonathan Clements on it, I always thought the Manga UK ones missed him when he wasn't there. Be good to hear from team AL of course though :D

And pre-ordered...couldn't pass it up for that price.

Baccano Collector's Edition is £32.99 from Zavvi / The Hut. Just pre-ordered mine from Zavvi.
Thats fine for people in the UK, but for everyone else their prices are criminal. ALL their prices include UK tax, but as they are in the Channel Islands they refuse to pay that tax to any other country. Nothing like paying a price that includes UK tax and then getting charged again for local tax upon delivery because Zavvi kept the collected tax.

Better off getting it of Amazon or Base and not get hit with an additional VAT bill.

Tokyo Ghoul

I'm not sure what the plan is for the subs of Tokyo Ghoul, but I've been watching on Netflix and there are quite a few minor spelling grammar mistakes throughout the episodes (e.g. "you're were"), and also a couple of episodes where the timing goes wonky. In either episode 6 or 7, I forget which one, they are really bad, and in a few of the others (9 is one of them) at different times they go slightly out of sync with the dialogue and then go back in time.

I assume they'll be looked at anyway, if you're even going to use the same subs for home video, but I just wanted to mention it since the release is a long way off and I intend to buy the BD :)
