UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I actually think they should scrap the subscription service now unless they make changes to it.
Non members who now spend £50 or more on each order are spending almost the same as membership. Unless your buying on sales its no longer worth it.
I was going to suggest that a directly comparable £50 order would still be £5 ‘cheaper’ with the (un)limited 10% discount. But suddenly had the realisation that I don’t know if the minimum for free shipping is before discounts or overall.
If it’s after discounts, then you would indeed end up paying £48.50 vs £50, making the total just £1.50 less. (If it was the other way round, there would probably be some bug that took 10% off the shipping too!).
But that £50 to £55.55 price range is a bit of a special case, with higher totals still benefitting from the full 10% discount.

That also implies that if there was a £10 BOGOF (for example), you would have to order 10 titles to make a £50 post-offer total, when the item ‘value’ would otherwise kick the shipping in at 5+ items.

On a previous post I mentioned I spent so far this year £454.50 on 16 earlybird releases. Only 2 went over the £50 threshold.
14×3.50=£49
10% £450=£45
£17.99 membership
The only other option is for them to ship orders when the amount exceeds the £50 or only order during sales.

A non member making a bulk buy would of saved £45+£18 membership.

I think free shipping for early buys is the best option for that tbh it gives people an incentive to put the money down when they are going to wait months

Bleach set 2 is live on Anime Limited's website. They also sent out an email with a code for 10% off £10 off when you buy the set.

Others were right when they said to order it from AoL, only £34.99 there with free shipping.

£44.99 + £3.50 shipping + 10% off = £43.99 🙃

Edit: Oh wait, you can stack the ANIMEUNLIMITED discount on top, so it does come down to 34.99. However, to get the Bleach code you must have purchased collector's set 1 from the ATA store.

Got an email with a discount code of 10% for Bleach part 2 because I bought Bleach part 1 collectors edition. Also says it can be used alongside the Unlimited code.

Edit: it's not 10% off it actually took £10 off. So with both codes it's £34.99

Got my email with the £10 discount code for Bleach set 2 which works no problem however when I apply the unlimited code on top that doesn't want to work. WTF . Anybody else having this issue .

It's nice they implements stacking codes, although I'm sure most of the time it won't allow it (like the BOGOF)

Kinda dissappionting they went back up to £45 when they were selling the set at MCM for £40 and this set doesn't have the art box.
Actually I don't know what they are doing with the price cause this is essentailly the standard edition which I think (Part 1) was a bit cheaper (I'm pretty sure I saw you could grab part 1 standard for £30 but may not have been from AllTheAnime)
Even the Standard edition of part 1 is £45 down from £50, so pre order has no discount, unless you got this code from ordering the first set.

I think im just gonna stick with the Art boxes set to re-house my US set (I have a enough multipe region playing devices/ CFW PS3), or at least wait for the price to drop.

And of course new postage threshold be bad.

EDIT: In my Email there is mention of £10 off but it in the none opened email in the subtitle, but yeah still confusing as 10% off in the opened bit

EDIT: @Dragon Slayer are you logged in?, maybe the order in which you put in matters, ill go test (orderd doesn't seem to matter). maybe expired sub, or they broke something in the transfere over

EDIT: NOTE: MVM have it for £35 as well

They've made it so if you have membership and purchased the collector's set 1, it equals the price at AoL.

I think they're calling it a standard limited edition because of the limited print slipcover and art credit cards; which are exclusive to the first print run.

The cheapest I remember seeing the standard part 1 on allltheanime was £39.99 (I think). Looks like AoL will be selling the standard Bleach sets for 34.99 though.

I see no point of purchasing membership every year and having to buy sets from the ATA store, just to get the price down to what another retailer has it at as normal (and that's if they do a promotion like they seem to be doing for the Bleach sets if you've purchased the previous one from their store).

They really need to make the Anime Unlimited membership worth the cost of admission, especially after the new postage fees. They could also do a reward point scheme (i.e., spend £100 get a code for £10 off another purchase).

@SkwigglesWorth I am logged in. Tried again and it doesn't seem to make any difference which code I put in first, it's only accepting the £10 off code.
It seems to be working fine for me on PC
If only we could still check our membership, I can only suggest wait and see if anyone else is getting the problem or throw them an email (probably due to the website/database update)

I think they're calling it a standard limited edition because of the limited print slipcover and limited run art credit cards; which are exclusive to the first print run.
Yeah that looks like thats what MVM have named them (I assume they just don't know what AllTheAnime are doing), but part one of the standard edition is the same (slip+art cards) and the same price (but yeah can only assume the slip is a limited run thing) or its the only thing that make sense for that price tag

The codes worked with my order. I used the Unlimited code first before the Bleach code which totalled £34.99.

Also to note, as it's been mentioned already, without the Bleach code it would have been £43.99 instead of £44.99. So yeah with this current model, you're better off ordering from MVM's store unless Anime Limited either allows free shipping for Unlimited members or they extend the Early Bird window to allow multiple EBs to be ordered together to reach the £50 free shipping.

With the paid shipping I don't think the EB 1 week timeframe is sustainable.
