4 year old boy plays GTA.....

after the "..." I was expecting, "goes on mass killing spree, beats up hookers for money"

Instead I got a rather heartening tale about childhood innocence.

You see? You f*cking see? It's not fantasy that corrupts kids, or anyone else for that matter. It's real life experience that does that. That's what twists people into rapists, murderers, and unsympathetic misanthropes. **** experiences in **** real life. I bet by the time he's 16 he'll want to fire up GTA again, but by that time he will want to beat people to death with a baseball bat.

and what?

sure, its not exactly appropriate, but if he's only playing it and done nothing to suggest he thinks its okay, then whats the problem?

Cripes. When in a mood such as this, I myself like to relax with a mug of Horlicks. (Alas, I depleted my current supply some time ago.)

So? Nothing wrong with letting a 4 year old play GTA. Except the whole illegal thing etc.

meh, how much harm can it do if the kid has a good education and is exposed to a society with good attitudes in general?

sure, our society isnt their yet, but a man can dream...

It is only illegal to purchase it if you are under age. It is not illegal to play it, at any age. Just like with movies; cannot buy, but ok to watch at home.

Parental guidance is a legal requirement though.

Not that I disagree, but this last bit got me. Are you just assuming that he'll grow up in a **** environment and want to beat someone to death?

He might not, y'know. I get the feeling you said that out of anger though, lol.

Well, I'm only going off what I know. I grew up in a decent environment and I still want to beat people to death. ;)

But yeah, you're not wrong. I was perhaps feeling a little nihilistic when I wrote that...

Did the kid enjoy it? Is he going to become a heroic gangsta-killer because of games now, or is he going to get banned..?

What happened to the kid?

bit of a parenting fail there, but not as bad as this dad who let his kid smoke when he was just 18 months old
After reading the sotry, I don't see where the parenting fail is.

Just let me know in advance where you'll be when you go on a rampage.

He will see his parents get murder in front of him and he will become Batman.

That sounds abit like my dad giving me vindaloo at that age.

Bit of bad parenting there.
