This is about a man who let his 4 year old son play GTA. As bad as it sounds the boy avoided the more evil aspects of the game.

meh, how much harm can it do if the kid has a good education and is exposed to a society with good attitudes in general?

It is only illegal to purchase it if you are under age. It is not illegal to play it, at any age. Just like with movies; cannot buy, but ok to watch at home.
