UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Did they even address the GL 4k issue?

Both that and Her Blue Sky's absent dub are quite shocking. AL say nothing, change listings on the sly, and hope nobody notices.

Both were brief comments on the AUKN Discord but they haven't said anything publicly on social media as far as I'm aware.

Rather convenient that I don't bother ordering/unboxing these two and they just happen to have issues of their own.

I have pre-ordered CITY the Animation and will get Angel's Egg in case anyone asks.

Looking at the available options, is this the first time AL haven't offered a Blu-ray-only version? Even the standard edition bundles the 4K and Blu-ray. Kind of annoying to have to pay for a disc I can't watch.

In this particular case it means I won't be buying at all, since this is a film I have only a passing interest in. Having only combo packs always irritates me but I've bitten the bullet on something I want badly enough.

Maybe if the standard eventually shows up in one of the Buy-1-Get-1 sales but otherwise it's a pass for me.

You can still get into your account, i've just done it.

If it tries to take you to shopify, underneath it says use email instead, click that and you are sent a 6 digit code to your email. Type it in and it takes you to your account. Although the subscription isn't showing up in my account like it used to.

I tried this and it took me to the Shopify URL :(

Edit

To clear up any confusion, I could access my account from the start. The issue is the account is now accessed via a Shopify URL that doesn't display the Anime Unlimited subscription.

Angels Egg is available to order now of anyone else is doubling up with City to avoid the £3.50 shipping charge.

That is exactly what I just did, as got lucky with actually picking up the email on time for once and quickly checked to see if city was still on, and still is at present for any who are very keen on pre-ordering both, though I suspect not for long?

So I've doubled them up to get the actual membership discount get some mileage for once. Need to now cancel my original city pre-order, where the discount was just going towards covering the shipping charges.

It's a double whammy for me as both would incur €7 customs clearance fees if shipped separately, together it's just the one charge. Unfortunately can't avoid the EU stealing an additional €5 per item though, scum.

It comes down to just accepting our fate to be messed up by a general malaise and workplace-discontent when it comes to customer service (in most aspects of life nowadays 😔) and getting logistics in order enough to make it worth everyone's while 🤷.

I wonder what will be next. The deluxe edition of Shin Godzilla that released on the Godzilla Store last year would be my guess, but I'm really hoping that we get blu-rays from some of the new masters that have been released for the whole series in Japan over the last couple of years.

The Showa era Mothra Vs Godzilla, Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster, and Invasion of Astromonster in particular are in need of better western editions, considering the awful amount of film splicing on the Criterion releases. The heisei era Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah and Godzilla Vs Mothra are missing their end credits on the US blu-rays. And in the millennium series, GMK and Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla have distracting dubtitles on their US releases.

I'd also love to see Chibi Godzilla Raids Again get a physical release, though it's DVD only in Japan.
