UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I saw this posted over in the blu-ray.com anime forum this morning - Dynit is using an image of the resin "Gate" packaging of Anime Limited's Fullmetal Alchemist Ultimate Edition release from 2016 as their box cover:

A new release from Dynit will be out in circa 2 months.

There was an update to the MCM app I hoped would fill out the schedule and...nope.

This is one of the most barren MCMs in a while, especially after seeing what Reedpop put on for NYCC. And yes, I know comparing America to Brexit Britain is dumb but even October standbys like the Hasbro panel apparently aren't happening this time. In AL's case I get the sense they've been weighed down by a bunch of general stuff so arranging a guest just wasn't feasible this time, but I don't know what I'm going to cover.

Genuinely feel sad for the folks too young to have been at MCM a decade ago when it was competitive and international. Not a huge indoor market with expensive autograph sessions around the clock.

Consider this a PSA, I guess, because the company isn't going to say. May not to be interest due to being regarding the alternate English audio but seems notable to me.

Her Blue Sky just released from Anime Limited and despite claiming initially the English audio would be included on the disc, its nowhere to be seen on the final release. It also appears the listings have been changed to remove mention to it across all formats. This is despite both coverage at the time showing mention of it Her Blue Sky Collector’s Edition 4K UHD Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray & DVD Details Confirmed for the UK

And of course the blog post announce post still shows it

I can certainly see an avenue of how this could happen (maybe an error that never got checked, maybe they thought it was included but really it got the fairly common Netflix problem of requesting a lot of money for something that won't justify it etc) but still, its at best misleading.

If I had ordered this, I would be asking for a refund and waiting for a regular discount blu-ray instead for the movie itself, but that's the thing, isn't it? I didn't order this and given how this went and the previous Gurren Lagann movie set went (stated ahead of time it had HDR10 display support, like the US and JP sets), where key parts were announced to be included, then quietly changed at some point before or around release without official/notable announcements, it's becoming a bad habit and leads to second guessing. I'd think City the Animation will be fine based on comments I've seen about it (plus GKIDS involvement too), but this is in the back of my mind.
