UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Perfect Blue question; does the included Bluray use the same newer master as the 4k? I'm guessing it doesn't; if not, does anyone know if there's any release worldwide where the Bluray uses the same master as the 4k?

I feel season 2 should be available with a "Why was the bridging cliffhanger something out of a hentai?" edition...

Admittedly do need to finish it. Found season 2 far more repetitive than the first and ironically stopped right before they basically put me in the show.

Has their been anymore info about oshi no ko being released?
Nope. AL's priorities for this year seem to be Naruto, Bleach, 4k versions of things previously released on blu-ray, and cinema screenings. The neverending amount of the first two in particular is really clogging the pipeline.

I'm trying to be good and not pester them about Macross Frontier too much, but it's turning into a long wait for a lot of titles that were announced a year or two ago.

There have been vague hints they're hoping to get a second Gundam title out this year. Which given we're on the 10th anniversary of them handling it here I really hope pans out.

Although given at MCM we learnt we're not getting Hathaway until September at earliest, worried I've misinterpreted hinting at that 😬

Got my copy of the Miku movie today so I checked out the after show concerts in the bonus features since the UK cinema release only had one song and the way they are handled here is bizarre.
There are only six songs but there are twenty concerts on the disc because they are bundled together in groups of two so you get repeats (e.g. one concert might be song 1 and song 2, another concert is song 1 and song 3 etc), but also all of the concerts are duplicated so among the 20 options on the disc there are only 9 unique concerts (concert 1, 10, and 19 are all the same two songs in the same order, concert 3 and 12 and the same two songs in the same order etc), and there are three different combinations of songs that aren't on the disc at all so it's not like every possible combination is accounted for.

The characters have a conversation after each song so maybe those are different and that's why there are duplicates? But there are no subtitle options for these so I don't know what's being said anyway.

Vue now has a page up for Ghost in the Shell. Sadly, no Bedford. I guess Akira didn't do well here?

Its on in my local cinema but at the same time as I'll be watching A Better Tomorrow starring Chow Yun-fat.
Although GITS is dubbed so probably not for me.
Thanks for the reminder anyway.
