UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Looking forward to receiving orders in July
I just watched the last episode of season 3 of Oshi no Ko which was fantastic and it got me wondering again if we'll ever see the announced season 1 release from AL. Crunchyroll has licensed all seasons this year so I wouldn't be surprised if they'll be blocking this or later season releases.

Season 4 of Ascendance of a Bookworm will start airing next week. It's a pity that AL also lost that license after season 2 to Crunchyroll.
Pretty sure Oshi no Ko is sublicensed from Sentai still

EB still hasn't swapped over, Summer Wars is still discounted and for some reason Shippuden part 3 is full price despite only being added to the site today.

Shippuden volume 3 has been on the site for a while. All the separate volumes have been £39.99, there hasn't been an EB price for them on their website as far as I am aware (aside from the CE box).

The Australian release Of Angel's Egg 4K from Umbrella Entertainment is out, but there's a question of how it will be handled for both GKIDS and Anime Limited. The Umbrella release was authored by Fidelity In Motion, who are a company known for being attached to very high profile, well regarded releases. But, I think its pretty likely that disc won't be cloned, at least not without additions, though its very possible (maybe even likely) that a different authoring company will be chosen for our release. Theres a new English dub not featured on the Australian release that GKIDS produced, so I would think that will show up on that, plus whatever local requirements they would want. Theres also the timing, things might have been in motion under the Plaion banner, so whether the Anime Limited release is tied up with that is to be seen.

With that said, I think its pretty understandable if someone imports the Australian release, particularly because of who the authoring house is, somewhat of an unknown (and gamble) for those of us here waiting. Ideally, the best outcome is a variation of what Umbrella got, though this is an assumption based on the reputation of the companies attached, I haven't read specifics on how its been received.

The AL release was finalised under Plaion and will probably be a similar style release to City Hunter Angel Dust.

Yeah the Australian release is out of stock now aswell which is partially why I haven't got it yet, along with import costs

I did preorder the Umbrella Collector's Edition 4K UHD / Blu-ray for Angel's Egg while they were still allowing international orders for it, and I received my copy about a week before Christmas. I haven't opened it up yet to examine it though, and I don't have a 4K display in my house yet to be able to view it in 4K.

It's very much still happening, and being worked on at the moment.

Damn should have read this yesterday. Completely forgot to order it during EB. £80 now! Hope for an EB redux during Xmas sale.
You’re not optimistic that they’ll manage the April (2026) release date, then? 😬

I’m assuming that’s vaguely correct, as the listing on the actual website states “with a release date of 11th May 2025”, so I guess the RNG needs to be reset.

Eh?
I just forgot to order during the EB that's all.

Unlike most here I have patience, things will show up when they show up. The only thing I was worried about was Perfect Blue as it appeared to have gone AWOL rather than the date being pushed back.

Things released in the first half of the year normally get a redux at Christmas.

It’s 2026 now. Unless I’m mistaken, next month is the release date.
Which means come Xmas it probably won’t still be a pre-order, therefore no EB or redux of same.

Although yes; hopefully in some offer or discount.

Anything released prior to April can usually be included in the sale. Summer Wars will most likely end up as an EB redux, could even be one in the spring sale on Friday.
