UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Looking forward to receiving orders in July
I just watched the last episode of season 3 of Oshi no Ko which was fantastic and it got me wondering again if we'll ever see the announced season 1 release from AL. Crunchyroll has licensed all seasons this year so I wouldn't be surprised if they'll be blocking this or later season releases.

Season 4 of Ascendance of a Bookworm will start airing next week. It's a pity that AL also lost that license after season 2 to Crunchyroll.
Pretty sure Oshi no Ko is sublicensed from Sentai still

EB still hasn't swapped over, Summer Wars is still discounted and for some reason Shippuden part 3 is full price despite only being added to the site today.

Shippuden volume 3 has been on the site for a while. All the separate volumes have been £39.99, there hasn't been an EB price for them on their website as far as I am aware (aside from the CE box).

The Australian release Of Angel's Egg 4K from Umbrella Entertainment is out, but there's a question of how it will be handled for both GKIDS and Anime Limited. The Umbrella release was authored by Fidelity In Motion, who are a company known for being attached to very high profile, well regarded releases. But, I think its pretty likely that disc won't be cloned, at least not without additions, though its very possible (maybe even likely) that a different authoring company will be chosen for our release. Theres a new English dub not featured on the Australian release that GKIDS produced, so I would think that will show up on that, plus whatever local requirements they would want. Theres also the timing, things might have been in motion under the Plaion banner, so whether the Anime Limited is tied up with that is to be seen.

With that said, I think its pretty understandable if someone imports the Australian release, particularly because of who the authoring house is, somewhat of an unknown (and gamble) for those of us here waiting. Ideally, the best outcome is a variation of what Umbrella got, though this is an assumption based on the reputation of the companies attached, I haven't read specifics on how its been received.

The AL release was finalised under Plaion and will probably be a similar style release to City Hunter Angel Dust.
