I honestly thought they had started re-printing what would be our/UK version of Dan Machi Season 1 limited edition (with the Art box and o-ring slip cover) for a few seconds, as it just looks so similar, other than the limited / collectors edition title being differnt.

Hopefully it'll fit with all the rest of your collection of Dan machi (lol who am i kidding nothing can help with that mis-match of sets sizes when including the UK sets, although I think the US ones are much more uniformed), but hopefully they'll release the rest in steelbooks at some point.
Is the steelbook Blu-ray sized or DVD sized (height)?

February Haul #1

I survived my cold but some stuff happened with work that's going to cause some minor disruption with the hauls (overtime is now no longer paid so I'll have to take time off instead to claim it back, but I'll manage). In the meantime, we have new arrivals from 3rd, 5th, 10th, 11th & 12th February.

PS5 Haul 2026 - Legend of Heroes Trails Beyond the Horizon & Nioh 3 1.jpg

#1: The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon & Nioh 3
We're starting off the month with two brand new games that arrived from The Game Collection.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon is the latest instalment in the long-running The Legend of Heroes franchise and continuing the events of Trails Through Daybreak I & II. I've not played the games yet but I'm picking these up as they tend to sell out and become fairly uncommon if you're not careful. But thanks to the Trails in the Sky remakes I should be able to catch up.

Next we have Nioh 3, the latest instalment in Koei Tecmo's samurai-souls game and I very much enjoyed the Alpha demo they released last June. I plan to start this as soon as possible but currently working my way through Code Vein II and may tackle a few other games first given this will probably take many hours to finish.

#2: Resident Evil 2 & Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition
With Resident Evil 9: Requiem upon us, I figured it was time to revisit the survival horror franchise by picking up a few games that have yet to appear in my physical collection. Miraculously Capcom decided to release physical versions for a few of their games that started off as digital versions first for the PlayStation 5 format. The Game Collection were offering both of these games as part of their 2 for £25 deal.

Resident Evil 2 is an amazing remake of the original PlayStation instalment. I loved the gameplay and was pretty tense in parts due to the Mr. X stalking mechanic but very much happy to finally own the game on disc.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition is the complete edition for the seventh mainline instalment of the franchise, which brings the franchise back to survival horror with a first-person perspective and classic RE style gameplay. Since this game was released physically for PlayStation 5 much later down the line, all of the DLC and patches are also included on the disc.

#3: Terracotta Store Haul
Next we have a bit of a random haul. As I've been supporting Terracotta for the past few years I was given the opportunity to acquire a few titles for a mini discount and also added a couple others that I had yet to get including a few new releases. In no particular order, here's what I got.

From Radiance Films we have Tai Kato's 1965 film Blood of Revenge (ę˜Žę²»ä¾ å®¢ä¼ äø‰ä»£ē›®č„²å). The distributor have released five of his works already which have done well enough so they're keeping it rolling. This film stars Koji Tsuruta (Japan Organized Crime Boss), Sumiko Fuji (Red Peony Gambler) and Minoru Ōki (Horrors of Malformed Men).

From Criterion we have Alice Wu's 2004 film Saving Face. It's from the US but focused on Chinese American culture and I first discovered this from Criterion's US announcements so I figured I'll check it out. There's no 4K restoration so it's just Blu-ray here which is perfectly fine. This film stars Michelle Krusiec (The Invitation), Lynn Chen (See You Then) and Joan Chen (Twin Peaks).

The rest are all from Arrow Video. Starting with Park Chan-wook's 2003 film Oldboy (ģ˜¬ė“œė³“ģ“) from South Korea. This classic film based on the Japanese manga of the same name is really good but I've not seen the film in over 12 years, and it was also one of the first 4K Ultra HD releases by the distributor (which didn't get a slipcase for this format for clarity). Also included with this release is the Old Days documentary included as an additional Blu-ray disc. This film stars Choi Min-sik (I Saw the Devil), Yoo Ji-tae (Lady Vengenace) and Kang Hye-jung (Three... Extremes).

Just released recently is the Sana Collection from Ju-on director Takashi Shimizu with two films; 2023's Sana (ćƒŸćƒ³ćƒŠć®ć‚¦ć‚æ) and 2024's Sana: Let Me Hear? (ć‚ć®ć‚³ćÆć ćć‚Œļ¼Ÿ). Both are of course J-Horror films and rather unknown until Arrow Video picked them up. This limited edition release includes an o-card slipcase and booklet. The first film stars Alan Shirahama (High & Low the Movies), Ryota Katayose (Ride Your Wave) and Komori Hayato (High & Low the Movies), and the second film stars Nagisa Shibuya (Chosen Home), Hayase Ikoi (Teasing Master Takagi-san live-action) and Soma Santoki (The Boy and the Heron).

Next we have Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash (Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas) from Indonesian director Edwin released in 2021. This film I first discovered when Arrow Video first announced it and ever since I watched the trailer I've been wanting to pick this up but never found a good opportunity to do so until now. This limited edition release includes an o-card slipcase and booklet. This film stars Marthino Lio (The Elixir), Ladya Cheryl (What's Up with Cinta?) and Reza Rahadian (Grave Torture).

And last but not least we go back to South Korea with Lee Min-jae's 2019 film Zombie for Sale (źø°ė¬˜ķ•œ 가씱), also known as The Odd Family: Zombie on Sale. It's very uncommon to see Korean films released on home video so I've been meaning to get this film for a while, especially considering it was released a few years ago. This limited edition release includes an o-card slipcase and booklet. This film stars Jung Jae-young (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance), Kim Nam-gil (Memoir of a Murder) and Uhm Ji-won (Tale of Cinema).

So yeah its a fairly random mix of films but it's good to be able to catch up on a couple of older releases. I would like to get my hands on the first print editions for various Arrow Video releases especially the ones from Korea but it won't be easy (unless of course they get upgraded into 4K Ultra HD which I would prefer tbh).

PS5 Haul 2026 - Resident Evil 8 & Ys Oath of Felghana 1.jpg

#4: Resident Evil 8: Village Gold Edition & Ys Memoire: The Oath of Felghana
Next we have a 'Part 2' haul of sorts to the Resident Evil games that I picked up earlier. This haul was done via retailer Hit UK, formerly known as Base, and the reason for this is because they were the only retailer to have both of these games in stock but also at a cheaper rate.

PS5 Haul 2026 - Resident Evil 8 & Ys Oath of Felghana 2.jpg

First up we have Resident Evil 8: Village Gold Edition, the second and final instalment to the Ethan Winters saga but also a return to the action-horror model that Resident Evil 4 introduced in the franchise. While the game is presented in first-person, the Winters Expansion also offers third-person which I might do for this playthrough. Unlike Resident Evil 7, this game's DLC content is only included via a download code.

And in a completely different genre we have Ys Memoire: The Oath of Felghana, a remaster of the 2005 PlayStation Portable game which in itself was a remake of the 1989 PC-8801 game Ys III: Wanderers from Ys which Falcom had a habit of redoing for a couple of their games in the Ys franchise. I had debated on whether to pick this up for Switch or PlayStation but I concluded on focusing on keeping the franchise tied to one platform. Now annoyingly despite being released in January 2025, the PlayStation 5 version was pretty hard to find and can be very expensive if you're not careful so I was fortunate to locate a copy from Hit and it's the UK/Europe copy and not the German one that you may find on Amazon. Perhaps Marvelous Europe decided not to print as many units for the PlayStation 5 version compared to Nintendo Switch.

Coming soon to my future hauls are the February Asian Cinema releases which I'm looking forward to owning, the long-awaited Macross II: Lovers Again 4K Premium Edition which is almost shipping soon (backed this in December 2023 bloody hell), the ACA Neo Geo Selection games (not all of them ofc as they're not cheap), as well as a new batch of anime that probably won't arrive until March which includes DanMachi IV limited edition and Slime Season 3 limited edition.

Got my CEX order today. Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls on PlayStation 4 and Rintaro’s Osamu Tezuka’s Metropolis.

For films it’s Collateral and stuff different movie podcasts I listen to have recommended: The Innocents, Angel Heart, Let The Right One In and Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead.

Hah, your Metropolis is in an Amaray Playstation 3 case (identifiable because of the blu-ray logo on the right upper corner instead of in the top center). I've gotten a few blu-rays like that.

...And, not one pair of bloomers to be found... 🧐

Hey now, I don't complain when you spend your monies on hentai instead of bloomers! :D :P

And I honestly have more than enough bloomers now haha, thanks for the bloomer apprecation though! Realistically if I were to buy any now it would only be very occasionally from somewhere like Etsy where you can get expensive ones with more fancy patterned fabrics and combinations of colours, but I honestly don't feel the need I have so many cute clothes already! I did almost buy one pair (they were I think satin and turquoise) in an Amazon order a couple of months ago but cancelled it cuz it just didn't sit right with me given my commitment to buying less unneeded things as outlined in my previous post, and I had figured out something more practical I could buy instead to get the faster shipping anyway :)
