Anime at the cinema

Saw Princess Mononoke at the IMAX at the weekend. Not much more left to say about the film itself - it's a masterpiece - but what a wonderful presentation. Hopefully some other Ghibli classics get similar treatment.

Seems like my local cinema is showing a "special sing along version" of KPop Demon Hunters this week. Really? I'm gonna have to pass on this one as I have little to no interest in kpop plus it isn't anime.

OK it's not your thing but yes really cuz lots of people really really enjoyed the movie and loved the songs, not everything has to appeal to you personally, and speaking as a fellow anime fan, I thought K-Pop Demon Hunters captured the spirit of Asian animation better than a lot of "western" attempts at such things, the animation was also phenomenal really impressive.

I finally got around to watching the regular version of KPop Demon Hunters and it was ok but nothing special. Evidently my 21 year old granddaughter who loves k pop really liked it but to each their own, I guess.

Thanks for giving it a try at least! :)

I thought it was great (my husband watched it twice all the way through, haha). The name made it sound cheesy but it had a lot of heart.

R

I'm eager to see it again at some point, and I hope they release it on Blu-ray, I'm gonna buy the OST from iTunes soon :)

Just saw it tonight and I won't give any spoilers but I'll just say that if you loved the tv series this movie provides a complete and very satisfying conclusion to the anime. I'll give it 8 1/2 points out of 10.

Anyone have an opinion of Chainsaw Man Reze in 3D?

I'm currently booked to see it on Sunday but the showing is easily the most inconveniently timed one for me compared to regular 2D. I'm definitely curious but if it's not amazing then probably not worth putting myself out for,

I just got back from Chainsaw Man. Enjoyed the film, the arc makes sense in a film format, the 3D was not overused and was generally good, making the subtitles pop slightly with it was really cool actually. Unfortunately my only screening option was 4DX and this was a massive mistake. So very distracting!

Definitely agree. Went for the awkwardly timed 3D showing and thought it was great. Nice subtle effect, used really well.

Also loved the film. Might be controversial but found it a much better movie experience than Infinity Castle, as much as I enjoyed that.
