UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

Interesting tid-bit, the Arrow Video release of Robocop from 2019 comes with the TV version as a bonus feature.
I wish they did that more often. Even if you never watch that version, just from a standpoint of preservation it's nice to have. I know sometimes those versions also would have alternate versions of scenes or some additional bits, not just things cut out.

I know what you mean. One of my holy grails is the TV version of Superman III, around a half hour longer than the theatrical version. I have the Blu-ray, but I still choose to watch my VHS recording of the TV broadcast (backed up to DVD-R).

The Fate/Grand Carnival OVAs have been licensed for HV here.

This is great news for the fact it's one of the few Aniplex licenses for the UK in a while (the other being Crunchyroll's standard blu-ray releases of Demon Slayer post-Mugen Train movie).

I really need to catch up on owning the Fate releases (only own the UBW movie and the first few seasons of Kaleid).

On the subject of Lycoris Recoil, supposedly it was going to get a second season so what's with the mini movie or whatever it's supposed to be that just came out a few days ago? I sure hope they haven't "reconsidered" a 2nd season.

Got paranoia agent on blu-ray for my birthday recently, really enjoyed it but did make me wonder what the BBFC cut version was like in the original dvd release and still look smooth? Also makes me wonder if it's worth submitting ikkitousen dragon destiny again to see if the BBFC would still cut the 1st OVA like they did before (and never understood that since the 1st OVA didn't seem any different from the other 5), I don't think MVM have that title anymore but would still be interesting to see what the BBFC would say.

Oh wow, quite the line-up!

Will definitely be pre-ordering Wasteful Days of High School Girls and Urusei Yatsura (S3 + S4) as well as the already announced Bubblegum Crisis.

Yet to own Ergo Proxy or Serial Experiments Lain so I will keep an eye on those steelbooks as well.

Yet to own UBW either and nice to see another Aniplex title licensed, even if it's just a re-license, it's starting to look good for the UK again.

Oh wow, awesome! Steelbooks for Ergo Proxy and Lain?! Day 1 purchases for me - Woo-hoo! Ergo Proxy is one of my favorite Girls with Guns anime, and Lain is just plain weird, lol. I have US and JP releases for both series in my collection already, but steelbooks are a must!

I already own the Paranoia Agent Steelbook, that was released a year or two ago in the US as a Best Buy Exclusive, and now it's bring re-released at general US retailers in one of the upcoming months.

Also anxiously waiting for Blood+ and Blood: the Last Vampire releases from AL too...
