UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Thank you for coming tonight + anyone else in here who was there 💙💙💙
I didn't but I'll be seeing it at my local cinema tomorrow. I'm actually not a big fan of the imax because the screen is too big for me to follow the whole thing but had I realised it was going to be such a big event I probably would have gone (would have been a good excuse to get out of work).

My review for GQuuuuuuX is up. Had hoped to have it up for yesterday evening but timing on this one was tighter than with SEED Freedom, sorry.

So they were very insistent on only ONE each and I just looked into it....this card goes for $2-400 online because of how rare it is.
Yup I also went to the screening with a friend that actually has the promo cards because he's been testing the new TCG. He told us that this card is going for crazy money online and that the Americans in particular are furious that the Brits had access to it, especially as many probably will never play the game and it'll sit in a drawer for years to come 😅
Mine is on display at least, no intention of selling it. It's mine! Maybe I'll play the TCG one day too, I'm sure my mate is gonna drag me into it somehow.

America has been getting preferential treatment on Gundam for years. Recent years have been better for us but after ages of being left out in the cold, I feel no guilt over the rare time something works out for us over here instead.

Really enjoyed GQuuuuuuX, my only complaint and this is for other similar anime screenings is that the font outline for the subtitles is dreadfully thin, it made it really hard to read the subs in lighter scenes

is this just the font they're given? is there no way to edit that

I wonder if it's just a me problem but it has happened a few times I've gone to alltheanime screenings

I had the same problem with Spy x Family CODE: White and my eyesight is bad enough as is, even with glasses so wasn't the best experience though I picked up on most of it despite not being able to read some parts.

This is why it's fun to see it on IMAX, where the subtitles are the height of a child.

Prince Charles Cinema will be screening the Eva TV movies soon. The poster for one references AL, but given it has a dead URL on it I assume it's just a specialty cinema reusing available images. Because otherwise I'd be tempted to prod about the Gundam 0079 trilogy and Char's Counterattack..

I'm glad Eizouken has finally been BBFC'd and may not be too far off. Any news on Blood OVA and Devilman Crybaby? Feels like ages since AL released anything I'm interested in.
I would expect them to pretty much be a Shonen Jump factory until they finish releasing Naruto and Bleach. They've really tied their hands by committing to two extremely long series at the same time.

Adjacently, I'm sure Crunchyroll torching Nozomi isn't helping get any Gundam releases.

I suppose when Crunchyroll is gorging itself in general, getting Shonen Jump shows is a boon for AL on paper.
