Aldnoah.Zero e1. An interesting setup, but only time will tell if it can live up to it's potential.

Baby Steps e14.

High School DxD s2 e3-4.

Rail Wars! e1. Average so far. The humour is hit and miss with me and I don't really have any interest in trains (now that I think about it, it's been about 10 years since I was last on a train) so I'm wondering if I should have watched another series instead. I'll give it until episode five to grow on me.

Ranma 1/2 eps 1-8

This show, like the later episodes of Urusei Yatsura, has better animation than most of today's shows do (although, contrary to UY, I hear the quality declines as the show progresses). Coupled with that classic 80s style and the amazing Blu-ray video quality, Ranma 1/2 is quite the looker. I was watching it alongside Haganai and this was infinitely more appealing visually.

But I'm not sure if I'll be going beyond the first set. Ranma 1/2 lacks the creative insanity of Urusei Yatsura and the emotional weight of Maison Ikkoku, and it feels like Takahashi was already past her best by this point. It is quite funny at times, and I like that Ranma is an arrogant ******** as opposed to one of the many nice guy/nonentity romantic comedy leads that followed, but I think it will quickly wear thin.

Aldnoah.Zero - Felt like there was a lot of setting up to go, but the visual style feels subtly different to a lot of similar shows and it really kicked up a gear in the second half. The soundtrack is great too - lots of gravitas; feels like something out of a Hollywood blockbuster. Those final shots of the ships crashing down to earth were incredible.

Sword Art Online II - Again, lots of exposition. But the bullet through the ethernet concept is wickedly realised and already it feels like this show has what it takes to push the boundaries beyond what series one did. How brilliant did the title sequence at the end look? Light-sabre much?! Chuckled a good bit at Kirito eating all the cake in the posh hotel too.

While I got further with the Ranma manga than with the anime (it being more readily available back then), it did strike me that, for all the apparent wackiness, it never seemed as funny as it should have been. I think it did work better in anime form, and I do slightly regret not having stuck with it for long enough to see some of the dafter characters who turned up in the games, but yeah - I feel UY probably holds up a lot better than Ranma now. Might give it another look if it was streamable, but it's not one I feel any great desire to own.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders (Japanese Dub) - Episode 5
Kuroko's Basketball - Season 2 (Japanese Dub) - Episodes 1, 2 & 3

Taking advantage of the decent internet at home, might as well continue Kuroko's Basketball with Season 2 (still continues to be awesome).

Captain Earth - Episode 14

An OK and cliche'd episode.

Legendary Ninja Cats - Episodes 47 & 48

I love the way Legendary Ninja Cats makes fun of itself.
