According to your responses, your perspective of humankind is neither naive nor jaded. Instead of assuming the best or worst of someone, you wait before making a judgment. You prefer to have others earn your trust, and although you won't necessarily assume everyone has a hidden agenda, you're also not the type to accept everything people say or do at face value. Tempered with a hearty dose of skepticism, this is a relatively healthy perspective. You may however, benefit from being a little more trusting. Unlike their less positive counterparts, optimists will at least try to find the good in even the most difficult of people, and are much more willing to place their faith in others. Although this doesn't mean that you should trust the good intentions of everyone you meet, a leap of faith every once in a while couldn't hurt.
According to your responses, your perspective of humankind is quite cynical. You tend to assume the worst of people, and will frequently distrust their motives. Instead of giving others the benefit of the doubt and accept what they say or do at face value, you take a much more self-protective stance. Unless proven otherwise, you refuse to believe in other people's good intentions and rarely, if ever, place your trust in them. Although this perspective may protect you from being taken advantage of, you could definitely benefit from being a little more trusting. Your belief that many people are fundamentally bad can lead to a rather pessimistic outlook, that is, if you don't already have one. I just basically Googled for a random happiness test as a little thing to amuse myself (don't worry, I've studied Psychology and research methods in such depth that I know objectively, this means absolutely bugger all xD). It was for a bit of fun to see how drastically my mood might have shifted by watching the movie, considering the reports of how people reacted to it when it was in cinemas in Japan and America.Lawrence said:So what you are trying to say is that a film written with the intention of prolonging the life of a cash cow has fundamentally shifted your outlook on humanity? Well, yes, I suppose I would be rather cynical about the whole affair too. Especially when the TV series had an adequate ending as is.
That aside, you are aware the results of those tests mean very little when you account for certain external factors that might influence outcome. Things like your mood, for example? Though the results are subjective at best anyway, since they require you to be completely honest in order to be considered 'accurate' and some participants do lie when filling out questionnaires, not always for good reasons, mind but none the less, they may possibly chose to lie or answer in a way that they consider 'correct' thus rendering the data collected from said form inaccurate.
I assume you were browsing Psychology Today's webpage to brush up on your understanding of conformity though? Not a bad idea, I will admit.
