Nisemonogatari ep 1-2

Well, the weirdness resumes. Seriously, what have I just watched? Almost nothing has happened at all in these two episodes, it has just been an endless array of bizarre sexual humour. Definitely starting slowly. It's still easily one of the most stylish and confidently directed anime out there, but its humour wearing thin fast for me.

Attack on Titan episode 1 - Intense stuff, hell of a first episode.

il sole penetra le illusioni 1 - Kind of interesting, but a bit confusing. Certainly not the strongest first episode I've ever watched.

Fantasista Doll episode 1.

Oh man, I don't even know where to begin with this show. It's written by Taniguchi Goro so I was interested in seeing how he can go from writing something like Code Geass to a silly looking show about girls with magical cards. And well, it's just bad. It has a fairly normal start and then the next thing you know, the main character is giving out all of her personal details to a random voice that came out of nowhere and then she activates some mahou shoujo app on a random phone she found in her bag and then a fight scene. And at the end, Tuxedo Mask: monocle edition, comes out of nowhere to give her flowers. I suppose I'll keep watching it for the general hilarity.

Highschool DxD New 1

I had a bet with a friend on what the timestamp will be when the first boobies appear. I said 00:02. It was 00:03. Damn.

Il sol... 1
Fantasatia Doll 1
Devil and Realist 1
Servant x Service 1
Kinmoza 1
Red Data Girl 11-12
Arata Kangatari 11-12
Karneval 13

I have to say, Crunchyroll have excelled themselves this season.

Angel Beats - Episode 5 and 6
Baka & Test: Summon the Beasts (Season 1) - Episodes 10 and 11

via Blu-ray.

LOL on the rocket scene with Angel Beats, haha golden.

Watamote ep 1.

As a big fan of the manga, I felt a bit underwhelmed by the first half of the episode, but it definitely picked up in the second, which felt more akin to the darker tone of the comics. I hope the anime isn't going to turn the cripplingly depressing moments in the manga into comedic scenes. Torn over the performance of Tomoko's VA, who does well with bringing out the desperation in her voice at times, but on the whole I reckon she sounds a little too cute compared to how I imagined Tomoko would speak.

Watamote 1

I thought they nailed it. Tomoko's voice was perfect and I liked the little directorial flourishes (faceless classmates and the overhead views straight out of the director's Baka and Test). Importantly, I was still cringing as much as I was when reading the manga. The OP and ED were spectacular, especially the OP. I'll definitely keep watching.

The World God Only Knows: Goddesses 1

It's great to have TWGOK back. I was curious to see how they'd handle moving forward to this arc with all the uncovered material. The option they picked was to recap the events quickly and then skip straight ahead. I can see this move totally baffling non-manga readers which is a shame. I would have at least like to have seen the Yui and Tsukiyo captures, whether here or in OVAs beforehand. Oh well, what we got was still a very strong adaptation of the beginning of the Goddess arc. I hope that the rest of the series can do it justice.

I can confirm that half of this episode made absolutely no sense to someone watching only the anime episodes which were released in the west :/

The other half was excellent. I wish they'd constructed the series a bit better to avoid the annoying gap in the animated material.

Honey & Clover ep.1-3

Thus far, pleasantly engaging in its gently comedic way and admirably retro in its aesthetic, despite the trappings of modernity clearly being present. My only complaint is that I don't buy into Hagu being the immediate object of romantic desire, given that she comes across like an autistic savant trapped in the body of Shinku from Rozen Maiden.

Watamote ep.1

Well, that was probably the most awkward thing I've seen since Welcome to the NHK. I did like the little bits of attention to detail though, such as how Tomoko's character design subtly changes when she sees herself in her mind's eye.

Not being familiar with the manga at all, I'll be interested to see where the show goes.

Psycho-Pass ep.2

Much as I really like the world that the show is establishing, I remember now why I drifted away from this back when it started airing. The central two characters (particularly Kogami) strike me as painfully bland; something made all the more frustrating by how much more interesting side-cast is. Even if the lesbian relationship between the doctor and the guitar girl could scarcely have been introduced with less subtlty.

I'm also not massively keen on the way they draw Akane. Maybe it's her eyes, but I keep thinking she has a ridiculous derp face.

Yeahhh, Hagu. I think I get the intention behind her child-like design, that it's a sort of visual metaphor for how sheltered and immature she is, but I find it a bit creepy that these grown men are attracted to someone who looks and acts like that.

I demand a crossover with Oreimo, now.
I can't even fathom the jarring effect that could have. I can imagine why you're thinking that but I think you might have the wrong idea about the series if you think that is the way it is headed.
I certainly hope it doesn't head in the same way as Oreimo (and I'm still hoping that the Oreimo anime doesn't had the same way as Oreimo 9.9). Tomoki and Kyosuke both being voiced by Yuichi Nakamura instantly made me think of just how different Tomoko and Kirino are and how er...entertaining, it would be to have the two of them in the same room.
