@elixEideJ - I would urge you not to support such a terrible release. If companies think they can get away with such atrocious work, they will keep on doing it, and Kaze are fairly infamous for terrible subtitles anyway. I realise it's your choice and all, but I'd rather spend the money I was going to spend on it on something of better quality.

Normally I would agree with you but I want Bakuman on dvd and there are few alternatives to the Kaze release. It's my understanding that the US version went unfinished and I don't remember seeing an Aussie release (please correct me if I'm wrong, if there is an alternative then I'd happily cancel my order and buy an import).

Didn't know the subtitles were bad on this release, just arrived for me yesterday, I've been looking forward to this too :( . You'd think that if a series was sub-only then all the effort would be put into making sure that they were, you know, good.

Black Butler SII Ep.1-3

Thought the bait and switch of the first ep was brilliant, love the new characters too. 2 and 3 weren't anywhere near as good as the first ep, though. I'm getting a bit confused with what exactly has happened here; characters back from the dead? Ciel not recognising people he's met. I'm thinking that somehow Sebastian has brought Ciel back and others and reset Ciel's memories in the process. Don't anyone tell me though, I don't want anything spoiled.

Yeah this actually crossed my mind too, and does somewhat seem plausible, as Kasuga was portrayed as being pretty manic at the end there as opposed to in any way sensible.
 
Nyaruko season 2 episodes 7-10: The Sexy Commando reference made my day. And Arai Satomi narrating the start of episode 8 was a nice surprise. I never actually noticed it was her who voices Shanta.

Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san episodes 6-11: I don't really have any complaints about this show at all. The humour is very similar to Nyaruko's (minus all the references) and I quite like the direction. Especially at the start of episode 11 with the sun. Anyway, the only reason I picked up this show was because each episode is 12 minutes long so I'm glad that I done that.
 
Hataraku Maou-sama e.7 - The humorous dialogue exchanges continue to be the highlight (as well as the wide variety of facial expressions), but I'll admit to being intrigued as to whether they're going to pursue the "actual" story to its full extent or not.

HENNEKO e.9 - This was a surprisingly confusing episode. ^^; I guess my prediction about this wish was semi-justified by WISHCEPTION, but in the end it was solved completely bloodlessly again. Show continues to be a very easy watch.

edit: HENNEKO e.10 - I think I've caught up with this show just in time for it to get... a bit weird? I guess they have to pull together a "story" to finish off the show, but there are definitely a couple of pieces of the puzzle that are leaving me a bit cold.
 
Magic Knight Rayearth - Episode 20

The first series comes to a close, I've really enjoyed Rayearth so far and it underlines why I rate Toshihiro Hirano so much as a director.
 
Hataraku Maou-sama e.11 - I think I may have made a grave error in not importing this, it has become easily one of my favorite shows of the season. More irl lol moments than any other show currently airing, I think.
 
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation - Love is the Pulse of the Stars

Another good Zeta Gundam movie, the final battle is an absolute classic but I'm not overly keen on the reworked ending. This is great trilogy and a very good introduction to Zeta yet it still isn't quite as amazing as the TV series IMHO.

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet - Episode 11

An interesting episode, keen to see where this goes.

Majestic Prince - Episode 11

I am just not feeling MJ at all!!

Demon Overlord At Work! Ep.12

Both these felt like final episodes, despite each having one left to go. Probably best ep of Demon Overlord since the first couple, a brilliant ep.

Pokemon B&W Adventures in Unova Ep.9

Might be the best battle of this whole Gen so far, though, that wouldn't be hard.

Black Butler II Ep.4-5

Didn't like how ridiculous and slapstick the show seemed to get, kinda losing it's tone.
 
Attack on Titan - up to episode 11

Christ on a bike. We're SEVEN episodes into the same battle, and I don't think we're quite done yet. Anyone who complains about the pacing of Aku no Hana while praising this show needs to have a good, long think. Everything is continually grinding to a halt so we can see shocked faces and hear monologues stating the bloody obvious. It's maddening. GET A MOVE ON. I must've read the corresponding manga content in less than an hour, and would be sticking with that if the releases weren't so slow.
 
Hmm, then I'll give a different view on Attack On Titan up to episode 11.

As someone who hasn't read the manga (which I think is important here), the pacing of the battle in Attack On Titan seems brilliant; I don't know what will happen, so there's no feeling the story is ever treading water. For all I know the entire series is going to be about this same battle. Since all of the revelations and characters are brand new to me whenever they crop up, the pacing is much appreciated so I can absorb everything properly. Whether designing it to work better for existing fans or new ones is better is up for debate, I guess.

So far, the use of stills has only bothered me once and that was a couple of episodes ago during one very long still which seemed to last forever. The voice acting and music usually carry me through any cheaply-animated parts, and it's so worth it for the action sequences which come in between them!

Unlike Aku No Hana, Attack On Titan avoids actively boring me to tears. This is much appreciated.

I think more importantly than whether one has read the manga beforehand is how much tolerance one has for the foibles of shounen action anime. Mine is close to zero; I cannot deal with time coming to a standstill so that characters can explain absolutely EVERYTHING over and over again. The manga does the same thing but it's not as drawn out, and you're not at the whim of a director while reading. It doesn't help that I just played through The Last of Us, which told its story in the most beautifully understated way.

Fair enough. I love classic shounen anime anyway so the director's pace seems about right!

Coming from the opposite direction, it's interesting (to me) that you find Aku No Hana less grating. I don't mind the visuals in that show (the dubbing, however, I'm rather less keen on). Unfortunately the rest of the package is unbearable to me, because no matter what I do I cannot identify with the characters and the slow parts just remind me of that by giving me time to reflect on how little I care. I guess underlying preferences for a particular kind of story are brought out all the more strongly when the pacing slows down ^^;
