Amigami SS ep1-2

The almost conveyor-belt-esque approach to story structure always made me a little curious about this one, but I think I should probably have just gone back to TWGOK instead. I will credit them with giving the main character enough cojones to tell the object of his affection he likes her by the end of episode one, but in the main, I'm finding the characterisation deeply uninspired and, on occasion, unintentionally hilarious.

I know such shows are supposed to elicit an emotional reaction from you, but I don't think "SHE IS STALKING YOUR SISTER, STOP TRYING TO DATE HER AND PHONE THE BLOODY POLICE" is really what they intended.

Make sure you at least watch episode 3.

Valvrave the Liberator - Episode 5

Not quite as full on as the first four episodes but still good and I'm sure they drew Shoko's breasts bigger in this episode?!?!

Well, I certainly didn't expect that...

The three best shows of the season, for me. I'm watching a few others but I'm a bit behind on those.

Flowers of Evil 1-5: I don't know if this is an accurate representation of what some Japanese middle school kids are getting up to these days to escape the drudgery of everyday teenage life, but in any case it's utterly compulsive viewing. And I don't care what anyone says; the rotoscoping, while not perfect, brings out the characters' emotions much more effectively than cheap 2D animation would be able to. The only "flaw" I can think of would be the glacial arthouse pacing which means this adaptation is not going to get very far into its sauce material.

Henneko 1-4: Came for the Kantoku designs, stayed for the funny and unexpected sweetness (and the Kantoku designs). Delivers a near-lethal dose of cute primarily via the expressionless face and deadpan responses of Tsukiko but also has a tender side that, for whatever reason, doesn't make me to punch kittens as "heartfelt" anime drama usually does. Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age. Also, dat OP & ED. Last 5 minutes of episode 4 = WTF and LOL in equal measure.

Attack on Titan 1-5:
I'd read the first volume of the manga last year, before losing interest in the wait for the second, so I knew what to expect going in. The first episode didn't disappoint, being every bit as epic as I'd expected with Tetsuro Araki at the helm, but the following three meandered along and the budget seemed to fall away dramatically. Episode 5 would've had more impact had I not got back into the manga recently, bringing me up-to-date with the US release, but nonetheless it was great seeing those events play out in motion. I also know what's going to happen in the next two episodes and I can't wait to see how those turn out.

A Certain Scientific Railgun S 5
Welp..

Also, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU 1-2
Still undecided on this series....it's nothing spectacular, but it's not disastrously bad either. I wish I had a shot for every time a chunibyo has turned up in an anime in the last 12 months though.

Kyatto-Ninden Teyandee episodes 1-15(skipped past episode 9 due to the sub timing problem)

Is that on the Discotek release? If it is what is the video quality like, I'm planning to get round to watching my set soon?

Yeah its the Discotek release, the video quality is fine, cant see any problems with it and for a show from the early 90,s it looks great on dvd,i,m really enjoying watching this finally uncut and in japanese with subs, not that i dislike the dub that is a cult classic in its own right and i will be buying that also but the original japanese version is top notch comedy at its best.

Eden of the East (Blu-ray) - Episodes 1 - 3

An interesting start and I really like what I seen so far.

Majestic Prince - Episode 6
