As for Greg's attempt, it grows on you, in an annoying "it's kinda there" way. By episode 25, you'll wonder how you ever disliked it.

I thought it was a woman doing the voice considering how strained it sounds.

Greg Ayre's voice always sounds so damn strained. The only roles I've ever liked him in was when he played that chimera in Fullmetal Alchemist and Kaoru in Ouran.

Also, those "British" accents 9.9.
