Just watched ep 19 of GITSSAC2G. Anyone else notice a difference in the voice acting? Not the voice actors, but like maybe the recording devices used were different? Everyone's voice, especially Batou and the Major's voices seem much lower.

It's still not really grabbing me, it's definitely much weaker than the first series. What's the generally held opinion on 2G vs 1G?
 
Personally, I'd have said the exact opposite - I thought the 2nd Gig was by far and away the better season.

Not to slight the first series, but I thought the second had far more humanity to it. Despite the overwhelmingly technological setting, this time around, all the characters seem to be plagued by universal problems of emotional frailty and self-doubt. It just made the whole thing feel so much more rounded to me.

I have to agree with that, I also thought 2nd Gig was the better series, the GitS world was so familiar by the time it started and I thought it had more insight into the characters.

This series is finally beginning to move the plot along!

My favourite episodes have been ones like the one detailing a bit more of the major's past and the one showcasing Saito's history. I like the character of Goda but so much of these episodes is wasted in exposition it's making it hard for me to enjoy it...

Unfortunately I can't think of many specifics to add to the discussion right now, but I'm with you on this Sparrow. As much as I love the series as a whole, I also preferred 1st Gig and agree with almost everything you've said above. I found the stand alone episodes of 2nd Gig more enjoyable than the main plot, and I can usually take even the lengthiest exposition.
 
Queen's Blade Rebellion e.5 - I want to say something controversial like "best episode of QB ever", but since so few people here watch this, I doubt it is going to cause that much controversy. The vibrator armor is still funny. I think.

Space Brothers e.6 - Drama! They do a pretty good job of making you like the characters you're "supposed" to, I'll give them that.

Tsuritama e.4 - The weakest ep so far, I think, and the first one where I thought the ultra relaxed pace worked against it. Some nice character building moments, still.

Tasogare Otome e.5 - Mmm, Kirie. The show is better when it's doing more horror-y things, too, though.
 
I've watched practically all of Honey & Clover sicne Saturday. Which was a terrible idea as I;m havign pretty severe relationship issues and it certainly didn't make me feel cheerier for it!

On the GiTS 1 vs 2, I definitely though the first series was strong. Not by very much though. I think the standalone episodes were as good, but I didn't care about the Individual Eleven overarching plot as much as the Laughing Man.

I have to say, just seeign a brief trailer of Sekirei totally put me off ever watching it. There's only so much boob I can cope with.
 
On weekdays? Definitely a boy. I do have long hair though.

I'm just a 2 boobs at a time kind of guy. Preferably smaller than my head too. Sorry if this is strange :p

well thats even more understandable i know exactly how you feel i cut my ecchi viewing down to 2 episodes for 3 - 4hours a day well if i ever come to watch what next anyway

i like Harem and i dont

1 why i dont like Harems cause we all know who the main guys closest to and assume he'll end up with her its to dame obvious

1 why i like Harem ............................. ecchi fan service boobs
 
Infinite Ryvius - Episodes 16 - 18

I'm just not sure about this series, I find it both intriguing and dull at the same time.
 
Hyouka 3 - We're finally getting stuck into what the show is going to be about. Ok i say finally, it's only been 3 episodes. I quite like how it's developing now though, mysteries in the show are becoming more complex whilst keeping enough simplicity that the viewers can follow. I'm sticking with this to the end i expect.

Lupin III + Mine Fujiko 5 - Finally getting everyone together slowly. It's getting more and more like i'd expect from Lupin the third, but keeping its style and feel it's been working into the series from episode one. I love it.

Gundam Age 30 - I think this was probably my favourite episode for the series so far. Arc 3 has a lot of promise, and the setting for this episode alongside characters worked really well. For the first time in the whole series, you get that feel of emergency and inexperience. Everyone thrown onto the Diva has no team work experience or some issues, and the captain being thrown a war promotion without any warning just adds that something the series needed up until now. It feels more war-like than everything else, and i honestly believe it will make for a better setting than the previous arc. Also, Flit, i hate you now

Hmmm, I'm not getting into this as much as I'd hoped. It's pretty, but a little too 'moe' heavy for me, I was hoping for a lil more plot.
