Hyouka ep 1

Hmm. I can see a lot of people not liking this because it's slow and hardly has a plot to speak of, but it's right up my street. I'm getting Maria-Sama Ga Miteru vibes, despite the fact that the premises are different, so I think i'm going to enjoy this a lot. It certainly looked good at times and I quite like the use of the music.

Is that any good? I've seen Sakigake Otokojuku mentioned a few times (mostly through Cromartie High School's referencing it) and I keep meaning to take a look at it, but I've never gotten around to it.

I love this series,it seems to go under the radar for some reason and i dont know why considering it was directed by Nobutaka Nishizawa and has character design by Masami Suda thats what sold me to the show when i did research on it,the best way to describe it is a mix between a high-school comedy and Fist of the North Star,its all very macho and manly,and starts of as abit of a parody then it turns is to a manly fight fest lol,so yeah i,d highly recommended it.

Before I post about this, I will sum it up by saying that I instantly went and ordered the novels and preordered the BDs once I'd watched it, so you at least have someone else along for the ride. ^^;

And damn, more TENTEN. That outfit she wore in the second half should be her new main outfit..

Way better than the main series. At least it acknowledges that it's a big step for boys when they stop wearing pants and start wearing boxers...
 
so far one piece is such a bad ass show its awesome

it might look wacky but its a dame good show. i could rewatch this series over and over and over and over again and not get bored its awesome naruto eat your heart out.

watching one piece collection 3 disc 2 and 3 tomorrow

Fantastic! I would adore to read the novels myself, as it seems like it could be a really well written tale. Have the novels finished in Japan?

Polar Bear Cafe eps 2-3

Enjoying this far more than I expected! It's comedic effect hits all my right notes. Although for some reason everytime I watch this I get a sudden craving to rewatch Cromartie...
 
The novels don't seem to have finished in Japan, but since they are actual mystery novels rather than LNs, they are not produced at a particularly great rate (the author has other series and one-off volumes that have come along since the Kotenbu series started with Hyouka in 2001).
 
Oh! Edo Rocket 1-7

Moon girls, murderous monsters, a young boy obsessed with fireworks, anachronisms, fourth-wall breaking, and some (but only some) utterly deranged character designs. This show is insane. So far it's been mostly comedy with some hints of drama, but I understand it goes the other way in the second half.

I'm not really sure what to make of Edo Rocket; it's fun but unfocused, and at this point I'm not seeing why the story couldn't have been told in 13 episodes instead of 26.
