watching tokyo godfathers tonight instead of one piece

i had to help with my mom and dad with *mom cleaning up* *dad plastering the front room*

didn't have time to watch one piece disc 3 today so il watch it tomorrow
 
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos

I have no hesitation naming Fullmetal Alchemist as my favourite anime/manga of all time (including both the first show and Brotherhood). Having said that I came into this with low expectations, expecting it to be a throwaway filler movie like the various Shonen Jump movies.

I gotta say though, I seriously enjoyed it! The animation style was very different, less detailed and more sketchy compared to the more polished Brotherhood. I wasn't sure about this style from the initial trailers, I thought it showed signs of budget cuts. It worked splendidly in the finished product though, adding an energy and vigour to the action. The setting felt suitably large in scope for a movie and the music worked well too. The story felt familiar but it was executed well and at a nice fast pace, and I really liked Julia as a character.The English dub cast is a good as ever, Maxey Whitehead is a terrific replacement for Aaron Dismuke as Alphonse.

Oddly enough it felt more like it could have come from the original series than Brotherhood. Ed and Al go to a town, meet a girl with a problem, help solve said problem, learn a moral lesson involving alchemy and/or politics, cue L'Arc en Ciel. Yeah that's a gross oversimplification :p Anyway, I had a blast and the Blu-ray looks excellent.
 
I hear that a lot of recent Golgo 13 stories take that sort of approach, but nah... A Fujiko centric show is an interesting idea, but I think the fans would have a fit if Lupin doesn't get a substantial share of the screen time.

I was actually thinking about that earlier while walking the dog (of all things). Well, we know that this series is primarily focused around Fujiko, but I wouldn't surprise if we see him more in the second half of the series. Like maybe there's a case that somehow ends up bringing Lupin, Jigen, Goemon (or Moémon) and Fujiko together that serves as the final case of the series?

I honestly wouldn't like to guess at this stage. I do think it would be a bit weird if it really is going to be "The Fujiko Show" from now on... These episodes have been great, but part of that enjoyment (for me at least) is because they're building towards all five characters meeting. We already know how excellent their individual episodes have been - How off-the-charts awesome will it be when they get together? That's an exciting prospect, so if they never get to that point... Hmm. I'd be happy for it to take most of the 13 episodes before they finally meet, as long as it's picked up for a second Series.
 
Yeah, 13 episodes is not going to feel like enough going by what we've seen so far.

Maybe I am just totally crazy then, I had been assuming all along from the title that it would be mainly Fujiko with a dash of Lupin, and that the "Lupin" in the title was more a branding issue than anything.

Read the following spoiler if you have watched the first series.
That depends if they want to be in the canon of the TV series and keep the continuity. Lupin and Jigen met Goemon for the first time in one of the first episodes of the first series, so it would have not much sense to create another episode where the gang meets up again.

(these posts are making me anxious, if this series will live up to the first one, then I'll be totally completely madly SUPERHAPPY)

Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 - Episode 7

The disappointing thing about this episode is that the battle with Kelly is over way to quickly and his story never feels fully resolved.

Since the story of their meeting has also been told in the First Contact special and some things have already been contradicted from that, I don't think there's much point in this series trying to keep continuity with what's come before. Besides, trying to create a cohesive Lupin continuity would be futile anyway... The characters have been the same age for the last 40 years.

Why did I capitalise the word "series"? Maybe this series is Just That Important.

Sankarea eps. 1-3

I gave this one a chance after getting a "quirky romantic comedy" vibe from it, and with a cat-reanimating zombie fetishist as the lead character (whose hair makes him look a bit like something from a Go Nagai show), it's certainly quirky. What else has it got? An amazingly beautiful (and soon dead) rich girl and an amazingly hot cousin forming a harem around said cat-reanimating zombie fetishist. Oh, and there's an overbearing, abusive father to play havoc with the show's tone.

And yet, it's utterly compelling. I don't usually follow weekly anime but this one is not to be missed.

Lupin III - A Woman Named Mine Fujiko's Boobs ep. 1

Since when was Lupin borderline porn? Not that I'm complaining since Fujiko has never looked hotter. Not a great deal of substance in this opening episode, but oh man, there's certainly no shortage of style. It's a remarkable marriage of a distinctly 70s look, modern production values, and Takeshi Koike. Also, boobs.

watching disc 4 of collection 2 of one piece tomorrow

iv watched 3 discs of one piece today im really getting in to it its awesome

its amazing how iv only watched nearly 53 episodes of one piece and luffyhas zorro, oppsa, ranji, and nami

to be honest i would of thought he was getting them in later episodes * considering theres over 550 episodes of one piece* anyways im loving it im loving im loving it
