Papa no Iukoto episode 9-12 over the past couple of days.

Decent end to the series, but a little unsatisfying. A lot of the problems they were facing just seemed to be acknowledged then forgotten. Still, I'm glad there wasn't the cheap ending of the parents miraculously returning, which would have majorly ticked me off.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear episodes 1 - 12 (Complete) -

Now that i've finished it, I now say that this was the worst of the season, it was this or Knight Of The Area but Symphogear takes the crown.

First episode was pretty promising, giving a dramatic and gritty opening that was alright, the enemy designs for the "Noise", looked terrible but that was the only bad thing I could say about it and the end of that episode looked like it would go in a interesting direction...

...but it got worse, a lot worse.

Symphogear worst offense is that the plot holes & cop-outs are totally obvious, that its hard to avoid. You start to get really irritated at these main characters as well, with some of there mood changes being ever so unnatural and rushed.

Add to that some of the poor, repetitive animation choices, the uninteresting singing and one bad ending. Symphogear is only watchable because of it's big action set-pieces but still avoid watching it.

Planetes 22 - 26(End) - A satisfying watch, start to finish, very much all i could have hoped for. The characters where great, heck i didn't expect to get as much development with Hachimaki as we did, which was a nice surprise, the story/premise was nice, just everything about it was good. I have to also say, it was a nice take on what actual progression to space could be like. There may have been one or two things that would beg a question or two, but overall, it's probably the most believable take on Space travel and migration i've seen. The fact that they even went as far to as remove all sound when dealing with sections in space was a fantastic touch to the atmosphere too.

I don't really no what else to say with it, bar buy it if you can get it. I'm glad i picked up the whole collection of singles from Beez at last years May Expo now. I want to do a full write up on it as well, i just need to learn how to write properly >.>

Disc 4 of dbgt is so boring that I fell asleep twice and I was gritting my teeth for everything is wrong in gt the characters personalties are all wrong expeclly gokus his too full of him self, well not full of him self more ignorant, the gt gokus personaltys way different to z goku, also the designs of most of the characters are crap and the story is crap and there are loads of plot holes af17 log out
 
Zetman ep 1

Wow they blew through an entire volume of manga in one episode. I still quite enjoyed it, kind of reminded me of the old violent 80's/90's OVAs both in its violence and rather haphazard adaptation of the source material. I don't think 12/13 episodes will be able to do it justice but I still liked what I saw, will keep on watching. Oh and the opening song (used at the end for this ep) is insanely catchy!
 
Black Butler II 1-9

Eh, it's not as good as the first series, nor the manga, and at times it is unnecessarily confusing to the point where I am not sure what's going on, which isn't very true to the spirit of the series. Still, an enjoyable show, when it's on form. I feel the next few episodes are either going to be amazing or fall flat, but the OAVs should be fun.

SD Rock Lee 1

Couldn't finish the episode. I was hoping the cute designs and my residual Naruto fandom would be enough, but the humour wasn't to my taste at all. Perhaps I'll come back to it in some future where I have finished Shippuuden and want more.

Polar Bear Cafe 1

This, however, was brilliant. Panda's whininess reminds me of Italia from Hetalia, but the show is much less randomly silly than that, and the seiyuu work is magnificent. Easily the best thing I've dipped into this season so far.

Just 5 more discs of dragonball gt then I'm done then it's 3 other dragonball movies

Over 500 ep and movies of the hole dragonball series besides gt it was a freaking long ride
 
New Lupin delivers more than I think any of us dreamed it would do.

It's almost as far removed from anything Miyazaki ever cooked up as is possible, but it's funny, has plenty of gun-rattling action and is utterly, utterly mad.

The rough-hewn quality of the visuals was a brave move, but I think it works perfectly for a show like this. It's like SHAFT time-travelled back to 1971.
 
Personally, I liked what Miyazaki and Takahata did with the original tv series, but it seems like a lot of folk don't. Basically his Lupin is a much kinder, more Robin Hood-type figure than was originally the case.

Went into it in a bit more detail back when I reviewed the original series, if you're interested.

I just got it in myself and agree fully there. The artstyle is fantastic for what it was trying to do, and i think getting koike involved really helped that. It's new, feels new, but has that style that makes it feel older.

Have to say, i'm interested by the storyline they are taking too, since from the Lupin material i had seen previous to this(secret of Mamo and Alcatraz connection) i'll put this as spoilers but might not be Fujiko and Lupin have always known each other, in this, they go down the route of their first meeting, or it feels that way. This makes me wonder if it's a bit of a retake on the series, or a prequel of sorts It's not that it matters too much anyways, Lupin isn't always about it's story from what i know, and more about the crazy antics and high paced action you get within the show.

Loving it though, its something i think has been a bit lacking in recent seasons, so will certainly be a nice change too.

I'm new to Lupin III and I found that first episode to be very good. I loved the playfulness and over the top action. The art was definitely the highlight though. Like Arby and Prof Irony have said, the roughness of the art makes it seem fresh yet also looks like it was taken straight from the '70s.
 
Started watching Inu x Boku SS. Got through the first three episodes so far.

It's nothing stellar, but enjoyable enough. Funny how Ririchiyo's height seems to vary in different scenes.

An OK episode, the plot was too obvious this week after what happened in the last episode.

Typical 80's mecha OVA, despite being full of plot holes it was entertaining, it's a real shame they don't don't make this sort of thing anymore.
 
Medaka Box episode 1

It's been a whole since I've seen a first episode with so much energy, although I'm not sure if that energy went anywhere. I'll have to keep an eye on this one.
