By the halfway point it all came together better for me and I actually was enjoying it.
I'll be watching at least the rest of the first disc (another 3 episodes) so I haven't given up on it just yet.

But [despicable characters are] part of the appeal!
Usually I enjoy mean-spirited comedy, but there's something I find uncomfortably sinister about the way in which Mariya treats Kanako. I do like Matsurika's deadpan "observations", though.

Rewatching Code Geass R2. I still think it's pretty damn good, but I've reached perhaps my least favourite episode barring the ending: episode 9, in which Nina is a massive hypocrite for accusing Milly of being a hypocrite.

She says "I've changed, acknowledge that" and then subsequently goes mental when Zero appears and is a massive racist towards Suzaku and Kallen for being japanese... where exactly is the change here?

I also love the hilarious chess game that is played.

Steins;Gate 24

Okay...best anime of the year. No doubt about that.

I'm intrigued now. I saw the blurb and it sounded interesting but I sort of put it to one side but with all this praise I may have to bump it up.

Just started Monster. Fantastic show one of the greats for sure. While I don't care much for the OP or ED music, the animation to go with them is great, the OP especially, with the sense of paranoia and isolation it conveys. I love the score too, lots of great string pieces, especially for the next episode teasers.

Plenty of interesting characters so far too. I'd say the only thing that annoys me is how much Johan is bigged up as a monster, yet a good deal of the murders have been committed by people he hired, rather than personally. I feel that kind of diminishes him, but then I'm only 10 episodes in so I'm sure I ain't seen nothin' yet.

Steins;Gate episode 24 (Complete) - "I am Mad Scientist, Itssocool, Sonuvabitch"

Looking back now at the series, I wasn't that hooked on the series until the half way mark, the first half introduced us to are characters and fleshed them out enough to make them all likeable, yet I wasn't really looking forward to next episodes until after episode 9, it is then that Steins;Gate really started to get going.

While at first light-hearted and comical as the series went on, it wasn't until episode 12 that the series all sudden went into a state of urgency for Okabe and you can really feel for him with all the pain his going through, such a great main male character that I haven't seen in anime for a while.

It was such an intellengent Sci-Fi anime as well, White Fox really did there research on the VN and themes such as the Large Hadron Collider or references 2chan and internet meme's.

However the more I thought about it, the more I realized that Steins;Gate perhaps won't be my Anime Of The Year but it was very close and will be ranked very high I tell you this.

In conclusion this is the first must watch on Anime On Demand, a Funimation license also may mean a likely UK DVD license as well, you have no excuse to check out Steins;Gate.

El Psy Congroo!!

9/10

Moribito Episodes 17 - 19

Revolutionary Girl Utena Episode 15

Sgt Frog Episodes 52 - 55

Sgt Frog Episodes 52 & 53 are a rewatch as I originally received a faulty disc which affected viewing from midpoint of episode 53 onwards.

Idolmaster ep 6

In fact I seem to be falling for Makoto more and more...
You know in your heart it is the right thing to do. ^_^

Actually after I finished posting here I went to set up a playlist for my ipod from stuff that I've ripped and I was curious as to what other idols sang as a cover/similar in their M@ster Series Second albums. Makoto singing Seikan Hikou? Oh my god i'm in love now. I need to get that cd in sharpish (and her Master Season 1st if I can...)

OT: Carnival Phantasm eps 1-4

I'm...Suprised. It's been a long time since I played F/SN, longer even for Tsukihime, so I didn't think this would be up to much but there were some segments I was genuinely laughing at. So it's doing a much better job at comedy then some other things I've seen lately. Plus there's some nice nods and references that made me happy that I remembered.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 3-7

Okay, this series is starting to hit home now; with the story about Kyōko's backstory; about how doing things for others only ends up hurting you harder in the end.

I love episode 1 and 2 makes you think "Oh, standard Magical Girl show." then episode 3 comes along and you're like "Fuuuuuuuuuuu-" then episode 4 onwards, "**** is getting serious".

Yesterday: Watched Episode 1 of Chobits, fell in love with Chii, ended up watching the entire series, then bought in on Blu Ray from Amazon.
Today: Watched 2 Episodes of Spice and Wolf, fell in love with Holo, Bought it on Blu ray and i now claim that it's the best anime series. <3 Holo
Watched Episodes 1-4 of Clannad, really enjoyed it, gonna finish the series tomorrow and may watch After Story if i have time. May buy it on blu ray if it's region 2.

Red Photon Zillion episodes 1-10,I remember playing the game of this way back when i had my sega master system, loved that game and the anime is damn good as well, classic stuff.

Usagi Drop 11.

Well, I'm glad that they didn't go with the way the manga ended, but the ending seemed to random, y'know? I would have at least expected it to end with her going onto high school or something.

Fist of the North Star TV 1-10

Despite already having watched these episodes, albeit a fair while back, very little of what I saw was familiar. It was like watching them for the first time.

Objectively, FotNS isn't very good. The repeated footage and lack of animation betray the series' low budget, while the hyper dramatic close-ups and music swells every time something vaguely important happens lends proceedings a campness I'm not sure they're supposed to have. Also, the lack of blood hampers the visceral impact of the fights.

Nevertheless, FotNS is enormously entertaining. The episodes just fly by. Morality is black and white: the bad people are really bad; the downtrodden are really downtrodden; and the good (i.e. Kenshiro) are absolutely saintly. Perhaps later there'll be some shades of grey, but for now I'm happy to watch Ken dispatch nasty people in creative ways.
