Tiger & Bunny ep 24 - Sure was a gay episode of Dragon Ball Z this week~. But seriously,
"a bit" surprised at the turn of events, not entirely satisfied with how they built up to Kotetsu's "death" - ridiculous levels of suspension of disbelief required to even think the other heroes would consider pressing the button, stupid robotss, Goku holding Radditz while Piccolo blasts him, NOT ENOUGH LUNATIC - but they handled it extremely well despite/including the levels of fangirl pandering. Can I really see why the last episode is getting shown in a cinema though? Surely this would have been the one. I want to be really nitpicky about why Kiddy Grade did the "last ep next ep preview" better in similar circumstances and with a similar style, but that is a somewhat crazy criticism to write out.

Tiger & Bunny 24

I'm going to be away next weekend too
Oh wow. At least it's not something that will be accidentally spoiled on MSN.com or something. :lol:

Steins;Gate ep 21 - Oh man, this series is just too real. Loving Miyano Mamoru's work as Okabe. And actually even more tempted to buy the game now, even though I would know the story (it just got a Japanese iPhone release, making it super easy to "import").
The two questions I feel that Okabe is not trying hard enough to answer atm - Who killed Makise Kurisu?, and (slightly more flippantly) what number does the divergence meter need to reach before we get the harem ending?!

I thought the button thing was pretty weak too, but ignoring that entire chunk of the plot I was genuinely touched by the last part. Kotetsu isn't my favourite character (he's ok, but his "human" qualities which are meant to make him more likeable only annoy me), however thinking of the trauma upon trauma poor Bunny has to deal with in that scenario makes me sad. When I rewatched the last part where he hesitates about picking up the gun, he has no idea that every second he wastes is making Kotetsu more vulnerable ;_;

Kaede picked a pretty horrible time to finally kick some butt too. If they don't pull some lame happy ending out of thin air, any second season set in the same era will surely be completely depressing :s

I assume we're getting a massive Lunatic festival in a second season because otherwise it didn't make much sense to reduce his role so much towards the end of this one with many of the questions he raised still not addressed. Yuri's Lunatic-coloured tie always makes me smile.

Haha, though in my case I'm more likely to be on the kind of site which will spoil it than MSN.com! I'll be watching it the second I get back without any peeking at the rest of the internet first.

Mayo Chiki episode 10 - The whole episode was based on Kinjirou sister Kureha's birthday and I really didn't like it. While it might add some character development to her, my opinion hasn't changed on how much of an idiot she is and the pay off was stupid as well, I found myself skipping the episode because of it.

I think Mayo Chiki works best when Kinjirou and Subaru are together and the focus on them is a more interesting. However when you give episodes to some of your worst characters then your going to sink back into mediocrity, which is what this series is doing.

Tiger and Bunny episode 24 - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Again Tiger & Bunny is so fascinating and entertaining to watch that I couldn't stop watching it, the fight scenes were tense and so was the trap scene with the heroes. I also thought as Ilmaestro did, pointed out the Dragonball Z comparsions when Kotetsu held the Tiger android, yet it was handled so well that I felt really shocked on what just happen, don't die on me Kotetsu ;_;

Mawaru Penguindrum episode 9 - When I finished this episode, I really thought this was animated by SHAFT - Weird camera angles, the SHAFT signature headtilt and the strange atmosphere, then I find that the Bakemonogatari visual director worked on it.

Apart from that we get an idea on Himari past and a clue on why those two girls in the ED are, good episode but the only thing now is:

Who is that Pink hair dude?
Why is this episode placed here?
Why are all these books here?
What is the meaning of life?
Who am I?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

What about
the horrible last few months Kotetsu had? First there was the shock that his powers are decreasing which made him rethink his entire life. Then on his last day, he was framed for murder - his picture posted all over the city and on TV; his friends and colleagues forgot who he was and even tried to arrest him. Then, his daughter gets kidnapped, and in the end, he isn't the one to save her.

Also, I have to say I don't like encourage yaoi fangirls...but boy was his last exchange with Bunny so gay..

At this point, I don't really mind if Lunatic or Ouroboros never get explained; I don't want a second season. The only way I can see it happening is if there is a significant timeskip and Kaede becomes a hero, partnering up with Barnaby (After all, her powers would require her to be around a NEXT to be useful). But without Tiger...it just wouldn't be Tiger & Bunny..

Now, this morning I watched Ao no Exorcist 22. Yeah, this series is definitely going for the rushed ending route...

You're assuming they aren't going to pull a surprise happy ending, but it could go either way. Perhaps his powers declining mean he will get a new power which conveniently saves the day. Perhaps they can keep him going until his powers come back up, and he subconsciously uses them to fix himself the way he did after the fight with Jake. Perhaps Ben is secretly a powerful NEXT who can rewind time.

And the reason his life signs dropped off Saitou's monitor was just that Kotetsu's power armour was all smashed up.

It's all possible, right? RIGHT? ;_;

Regarding Kotetsu having a bad life too, half of that was his own fault; one of the things I find frustrating about him, even though it's realistic, is that he's very avoidant when it comes to just coming out and dealing with things, and doesn't consider outcomes carefully. I'm much more sympathetic to Bunny's personality and how hurt he is when his partner doesn't share his lows as well as his highs with him, and how difficult it is to work with someone who acts that way. But yes, of course Kotetsu has had a horrible time too. He never deserved to be used as a pawn by Maverick the way he was, even if he is maddeningly dumb at times. If anything his naiive personality makes the cruelty that much worse.

Anyway, I want a crazy happy ending and don't care how hammy it ends up being.

Steins;Gate ep 18

I've enjoyed this going back to a kind of casual style of episode. Really enjoying the interactions of Okarin and Kurisu.

Idolmaster ep 6

HolycrapSmokyThrillwasawesome. Miki saves the day but I would have loved to see her and Makoto do their stuff. In fact I seem to be falling for Makoto more and more...Loved the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure ref. Reminds me I need to re-read what's out at some point.

Silly Producer-san. You are so.........

I thought Ben's NEXT ability was to locate anyone, so he can drive them in his taxi? Unfortunately, I'm thinking Kotetsu is dead. Barnaby was holding him, so he'd obviously be able to see his pulse, and the look of all the other heroes when Kaede entered pretty much confirmed it. I'm worried that a season 2 will be Kaede and Barnaby going after Ouroboros - "Tigress & Bunny" anyone?

Yeah, I got frustrated with Kotetsu at times, like how he won't just come out and tell Barnaby about the problems he's having - but can you blame him? Barnaby's memories had just started tripping, and Kriem had just woken up. Kotetsu probably felt like he would be (and he probably would come across as) a jerk if he ignored all that and said to Barnaby "btw, my powers are declining so I'm going to quit." as Barnaby might have seen that as Kotetsu leaving him all alone (although, when Kotetsu tried to announce it at first, Barnaby always cutting him off really didn't help things).

Also, men as a whole (me included) do have a harder time telling people about their problems...not even I know why that is exactly, but men can celebrate their highs together with no problem, but when it comes to their lows, the majority prefer to be by themselves.

Anyways:
Pokémon: Zoroark, Master of Illusions
I was just reminded of how bad this movie is. Arceus and the Jewel of Life was far better.

I'm not sure I trust Barnaby's ability to assess someone's deadness in that situation, he was pretty worked up and wearing his powersuit. They're all going to ride off into the sunset on their bikes this weekend, with Kaede squished into the sidecar too. I believe! Unless it's some kind of evil experiment to see what the fangirl population of Japan do when pushed >_>;

I'd quite like a Tigress (or Tiger Cub) and Bunny spin off, but as a long term series (if we do get the bad end) I'm not so sure. Them being bound together by their collective feelings of guilt for not acting fast enough would make it pretty depressing. I also think there's more to be explored with Bunny as the younger one of the pairing, so having him graduate to being Kaede's senior so soon would be a bit weird. It would be nicer if Kotetsu stuck around as their manager, if such a series happened.

I know some men find it hard to talk about things (some women do too - I'd certainly hate for anyone to know if I was down) but I cannot stand it when people try to pretend things are ok when they're not when it affects other people. It's meant to be endearing but it just makes me want to reach through the screen and shake him so badly. Barnaby needed him to have the guts to tell him in spite of the difficulty, to show he trusted him.

Oh well, led to awesome scene in the end. The next episode draws closer every minute.

Yeah, they actually handled the issue of Kotetsu's declining powers very well. It meant that there was enough drama to that sequence without any need to ham it up, which they mostly avoided. Bunny's line about the cha-han was kind of an eye-roll for me, but Tiger's last line was wonderfully understated.

Yeah, I think this has become more apparent as the season has gone on. Very disappointing though, as I definitely feel like they were prepared to have him take more of a role if it had turned out to be a one season show, and this has lead to some of the less engaging elements of the narrative (again... robots and bomb collars ffs).

So far all the characters in this show have been dull, annoying, or downright despicable. Shinbo's abstract directorial style is interesting, but I'm not sure that I like it. What's left? Um, wonderfully deranged OP and ED sequences backed by a couple of great pop songs?

Hmm, I get the feeling lately that we have completely different taste so this may not be so useful, but I did get more into it after a couple more episodes. The early stuff like the dorm manager and the seaweed didn't work for me at all; it seemed awkward and dorky rather than funny. By the halfway point it all came together better for me and I actually was enjoying it.

It probably helped that I'd recently been watching Strawberry Panic at the time, which I didn't really end up liking that much. So something which played out like its evil, sadistic twin was welcome.
