Wolf's Rain 6-8

I finally figured out who voices Darcia (eyepatch guy): it's Takaya Kuroda/him wot plays Kiriyu in Yakuza. I knew straight away that I knew the voice and I can't believe I didn't get it immediately. Had no idea he played Simon in Durarara, though; that faux-foreigner accent must have thrown me.

The show? Yeah, yeah, it's all right.

Tiger & Bunny ep 23: Show remains the most overhyped-but-still-good show for years. Cute resolution to the issue of Bunny's memories, shame it came at the expense of having to do anything that might have tested the writers' creativity. Same with the "plight" of the other heroes - it isn't plausible enough (ie. at all) that any one of them would disable the collar, negating any potential dramatic tension. Having Saito play a relatively large part has been a cool idea, though.

You mean Ben right?
Saito, the one who made Tiger and Bunny's suits, who talks really quietly. The guy who had the badass megaphone on his head this episode, and outright said to Ben that his taxi is crap. Saito, you badass you.

As Agnes was still under the effects of Maverick's powers; I'm wondering, does that mean Mr. Lloyds is also under the effect? So Saito is being badass and acting on his own?

I rewatched the episode, and thought...why doesn't Dragon Kid just flick her switch? Sure, the others will die, but couldn't Dragon Kid's powers be used to overload the android or something? xD. We'll prolly have an episode of angst before they decide to flip their switches at the same time though.

Because that won't be necessary; Lunatic will come in and bury the world in glorious blue flames first. Maybe.

Unrelatedly, finally just got around to watching Gundam Unicorn 3. The final 15 minutes or so were so awesome, I ran straight to iTunes to buy the Chemistry song which played as the ending. And of course it wasn't available. Now I have to be patient and wait for shipping :/

In fairness, I did think about saying "Saito and Ben", yeah, but he doesn't quite do enough.

Ao no Exorcist 21.

Boy is it blindingly obvious that they're trying to drive this series to a premature end? I'm honestly surprised that the cast even care anymore when Mephistes is arrested. I mean, it seems to happen a lot >>.

Been watching a fair bit this past week. I don't normally get much chance to do so, but this time i took what time i had and pushed most of it into watching Escaflowne. Had a bit of a shaky start at first, but as it went on, it got progressively better. I really do enjoy the soundtrack too, though i always did think Kannos earlier works where better in quality.

Only have the last 6 episodes to watch for it now, which i intend to get finished tonight, so i'll throw in my final thoughts sometime this evening.

Asides from that, Tiger & Bunny has been my main other fix. Episode 23 was a mix of predictable, and a little not, but it still keeps itself pretty strong. I really should have been able to predict that the Dark Tiger was in fact, an android, but for some reason i missed all the ticks for that. Everyone getting captured mind you was a bit too easy to predict

Now i just need to wonder what to finish after Escaflowne(going for my backlog stuff instead at present)

Finished watching Haibane Renmei, which was really awesome, I'd give it a 9/10 easily. Despite it being quite "deep", it was infact really easy to watch, after a few episodes I was hooked. It's definietly a very clever, well thought-out anime that gets you thinking; it's the type of anime that I can easily recommend to anyone, no matter what kind of genre's of anime they are into because I'm sure they'd love it.

I've been reading One Piece and Gantz manga recently, which I'm really getting into. I'm slowly watching Chobits by seeing an episode every now and again, to me this kind of anime suits this style of watching. Right now I'm deciding whether to watch Mushishi or Gurren Lagann, hmmm...

Sacred Seven ep 9 - Wearing the Eva influences a little bit too much on its sleeve this week, I could do my usual thing and vaguely complain about it, but since it's now the only show other than iM@S that I am this up to date with I think it's about time I started listing it under "guilty pleasure".

Steins;Gate ep 14 - Hmm, probably not as good an ep/pair of eps as Madoka ep 10, with which it shares a similar narrative, but holy **** did the end of the ep ever set up some awesome stuff. "You made it", and "I'm John Titor" were both spine tingling moments, I love time travel stuff like that.

/hi-fives fellow behind-the-timer

Wolf's Rain 9-12

There's a pervasive sense of sadness and desolation about Wolf's Rain that has me thoroughly captivated. In superficial ways it actually reminds me of Haibane, from its muted colour palette, to its strange world, to its mysticism. Think I'm going to be skipping the forthcoming recaps, though. (Unless there's any reason not to?)
