The Irresponsible Captain Tylor OVA: Episodes 2-4

EDIT: It appears that the first OVA, "Tylor's War" is a two parter, so the next episodes I'm watching are 3-5.

Shikabane Hime / Episodes 1-11
Lucky Star / Episodes 6-8
Gundam 00 / Season 1 and Season 2 (re-watch)
IGPX / Season 1 Episodes 1-2
Evangelion 2.22 BD (re-watch)

X-men 6-9

Action is ramping up, it's pretty good how the whole team is involved in almost every fight. Ep 6 had a pretty cool fight against a mutant hunting cyborg, though it feature the stereotypical "two giant monsters/ robots grappling and pushing against each other" cliché shot. Indeed I wonder how much anime is wasted in two characters essentially holding hands very aggressively.

Either way, I'm really rather enjoying it. It's a shame that the dub won't have Steve Blum as Wolverine, but the japanese voice actors are doing a pretty sound job of voicing the characters too.

Tiger & Bunny 21

Lunatic was as predicted, but Kaede being in Stern Build...not so much.

Maverick touched her! I can't stand waiting another week now...

Also Kaede seems a million times smarter than her father, even taking into account his trust for his superior.

After the tension in the drinking scene last week and then that scene this time, I am getting way too pumped each time.

Holy Crap, I should of realised that
How didn't I notice that?

Maybe Kaede will somehow get up to Apollon Media, see everyone attacking her father and shout "Why don't you all remember Wild Tiger?!" inadvertadly activating Maverick's powers, reversing them?.

Mayo Chiki episode 7 - Another beach episode continues the series genetic trend, this time it's forced by Kanade's "I wanted to run away with my BF" arguement, still doing like her.

Again Kinjirou is forced to difficult and silly situations but does manage to calm down these misunderstanding in witty conversations, it makes him one of the better male main characters in harem anime. I'm not really expecting much at this half way stage but i'm finding it just above average.

Mawaru Penguindrum episode 6 - After missing a week of this, I feel relieved to get my Penguin Friday back and this episode still provides enough humor and mystery to keep me on my toes.

The summer season has had some stand outs (Crosiee, Usugi Drop, No.6) but it seems to be a bit underwhelming when comparing to the Spring offerings.

Tiger and Bunny episode 21 + 2nd half recap - Tiger & Bunny has become probably one of the most entertaining, funny and interesting surprises of 2011. Everyone is memorable (I would so far even name Kotetsu the best male character of the year so far alongside Okabe) and it keeps me wanting for more every week.

Now that we are coming close to the finish line, this episode was tense and also holding a few surprises while keeping me guessing on what will happen next week. Its what i've always wanted from it. Thank you and Thank you again T&B.

Hanasaku Iroha episode 21 + 2nd half recap - A decent Slice-Of-Life offering but it's not really impressed me as much as I thought it would and I don't know why, perhaps i'm not emotionally invested in the dramatic parts of the show nor do I appericate it's light-hearted nature at times.

I may need to finish the series to honestly tell you what I thought of Iroha hopefully I can be more positive till then.

Steins;Gate episode 20 + 2nd half recap - It is shapping up to be a contender for the best anime of the year and i'm not kidding with all praise i've given Madoka Magica.

The reason why I think I love Steins;Gate is the way I can relate to all these characters and it's IT setting, Okabe espeically I mean who wouldn't want to be a mad scientist.

The second half has become darker but the plot is so engaging and Okabe's determination is so brillantly executed that I don't know what to say but go watch it on Anime On Demand, DO IT NOW.

Finished watching Baccano! and the additional 3 "special" episodes. My thoughts are in the anime rating thread..

Also been watching some Ghibli movies I haven't seen before with my girlfriend. I enjoyed all four.. Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and My Neighbour Totoro. I'm looking forward to watching some more Ghibli's too, namely Princess Mononoke which I should be watching soon!

Started watching Gankutsuou, too. I've only seen the first two episodes though so can't add much about it yet.

Tonight I'm trying to decide whether to watch Haibane Renmei or Chobits, hmmmm...

Watch the magnificent Haibane later - get Chobits out of the way first.

It's time for a second and final attempt at watching Banner of the Stars. I enjoyed Crest, the first series, for the interaction between the two lead characters and the plot that took them on a thrilling adventure through space, down onto Terra firma, and back again; but Banner is mostly focused on large scale ship battles, and that's just boring. Still, I'm hoping there's enough decent time with the characters to make the slog worthwhile.

Just watched Tiger and Bunny 21. Rapidly on its way to becoming one of my favourite shows.

The same could not be said for the other two shows I watched in the last few days. Dog days I just about trawled through due to my completionist nature. And Denpa onna became tedious to me when it became apparent it wasn't a sci fi comedy, and instead just another bakemonogatari, but with animation.

Also watched a couple of episodes of Those who hunt elves II so I can complete that too. Up to episode 9 now...I think I left the DVD in the player  And 20 episodes of Ranma over the weekend as I try to finish that off too.
