utawa is possibly one of the most underated animes in the last few year, tiz a very good story, looked down apon cause it originated from a h-game.

anyway OT.

shinigami in swimsuits fighting melons with tentacles

yeah i have no idea where this series is going anymore

and 21-23 of Gundam Wing

Quatre new theme song - psycho by Disturbed

Canaan 1-Was pretty good actually,I'll see how the second episode shapes up.

Bakemonotagari 1-Really enjoyable stuff, especially since its from a novel by NissioissiN.Will definatley follow this one.

Utawareronobonobingobangomangatango: 6-10

Masked main character takes over a country in 7/26 episodes, with basic 'you go left, you go right, I go through the middle like a manly man with a fan and a plan' tactics. The series is entertaining but a little too basic for my tastes, and there hasn't been much in the way of character develoment.

I will say that it's bloody good for something that was based on hentai/a perverted thing. You don't usually get war stories when you base something on T&A.

By "especially since" I can only assume that you mean "because I wasn't expecting them to be able to capture that much awesome in animated form".

Devil Lady 14-17

This is good stuff. Really good. The second half is shaping up to be less episodic than the first, as is often the case with 26-episode series, and the intensity is building nicely. A welcome development because the more involving the plot becomes, the less bothered I am about the show's technical shortcomings. Two discs left.

Kannagi 1+2-Was a real curveball for me,but I wanted to see what it was about since Bandai made their sudden announcement on Friday. So far,I'm really enjoying it.

Gakuen Alice eps 1 & 2

Hmm. Not sure what to think so far. It's cute, it's funny, and it's got potential to be quite good.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni Eps 1 & 2

Enjoyed the first two eps. Really looking forward to seeing some more. If it hooks me like Higurashi did then I'll have to check out buying the original game.

I've also got Paradise Kiss to try out from my monthly imports so I might watch that later.

Finally found some time to get some stuff in, and have some more planned for tonight:

Gintama 17 - 20
Spice and Wolf II 1(2 tonight) - nice restart for the series i have to say, looking forward to starting on episode 2 as well later on.
FMA: Brotherhood 11-14(15-16 tonight) starting to pick up pace again, but doing it well. The brothers training was rather short i felt and lacked a bit or two but it was good to see that in again. 13-14 was really the introduction of the more newer stuff(from what i saw anyway) so its good to see the manga storyline appearing now.

Also tonight if i can manage: Xam'd 4-6 and macross Frontier 11 as well.

Claymore Volume 6. Not a bad show through out, but I don't think the later episodes are as good as earlier parts of the series. I hope there is a film or OVA planned for when there is more story as the ending is a little open.

Bleach Volume 18. These episodes were more interesting for me than those on the previous volume. I was sort of unsure about the way they shoehorned in the captains and that from time to time so people would not forget them.

Sat through the first volume of Gundam Wing. I'm not impressed with what I've seen.

It's childish and amateurish. The attempts at linking the main character with a female character have failed horribly, with the female character defying logic and chasing after Heero (that's actually his name; not a typo!) despite him threatening to kill her and later going on to attempt to kill her. The writers must've been so lazy that they didn't bother to think up a way for them to meet and get their relationship started in a decent manner.

Heero even started going to the same school as her. He can join a school straight away, without proof of ID, clearly. And the scene at school where he attempted to show how cool he was by wiping a tear from the girls face and saying he'd kill her was just bad. Why was it even in there...hell, why did Heero go to school in the first place!?

As for the main story, five men get sent to stop the Earth Alliance from conquering all... Wait, I got that wrong: five male kids are sent because no men were manly enough. Apparently, they're all part of the originally named 'Project Meteor'. So, with them all having the same mission, they must know to work together...right? Wrong. They all work alone for reasons unknown.

There's even a Chinese kid/pilot, complete with a dragon t-shirt. random Chinese characters are always good. It's amazing that China even survives in the hearts of the youth living in space, over 100 years after people moved from the Earth.

Anyway. The first five episodes involved lots of pointless fighting, with no explanations provided with regards to their mission, and even more pointless scenes involving the girl who is be Heero's ladyfriend/whore somewhere down the line. Everything seemed to have been chucked together; there wasn't any flow between the scenes. I don't know what's going on and I can't say I give toss.

I pity the fools who paid £70+ for this box set. 5-7/10 all the way so far - hardly worth the effort of remastering. The show doesn't even look good to begin with, anyway!

Utaware: 22

It has problems - which I'll try to cover in brief when I rate it - but it has been one of the most enjoyable and easy to watch series I've seen in awhile. It seems determined to enter anime 'WTF?' territory near the end, with mechas, Gods, monsters, the evolution gap between monkeys and men and all the usual anime goodness getting included after 18 or so episodes of primitive, bows and arrows warfare, but I still like it.

My favourite Utaware related thing is the Omake DVD extras. There's some "glol" moments in them. If I rate the series 8/10, I rate the Omake extras 9/10.

The ending of the third one is all kinds of awesome:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EjcOCksyHxo&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EjcOCksyHxo&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The PS2 SRPG trailer makes the game look pretty good. It didn't look perverted, so I'm assuming the SRPG is a spin-off, but I'd play it if it had been released in English.

The PS2 version of Utawarerumono is an enhanced port of the PC game. Since adult content is only a small part of many eroge (in a lot of cases the developers only add porn because PC gamers wouldn't buy the games otherwise) non-adult versions can be ported to consoles without losing anything crucial to the plot.

I have been mostly watching Eureka Seven, which, aside from Renton's bawling, is getting better and better; and Devil Lady, which has been consistently good.

The extras on Utawarerumono are brilliant. I love the one where they try and sneak food, but it turns out to be bad and gives them the craps.

I have watched the first couple of discs of Suzuka. From the trailers I had seen in the past I had avoided it thinking it was going to be a purely sports anime. However now a cheap set is out I thought I would Give it a go. From what I have seen it really is much more of a romantic drama/comedy with some sports. So far I have really enjoyed it and would suggest anyone that likes Kanon, Clannad, ToHeart or possibly Rumbling Hearts should give it a go.

Fullmetal Alchemist to End + Conqueror of Shamballa.

Very enjoyable. I imagine the parallel world twist was one of the things not in the Manga, but I thought it worked really well. The series ending was better than the film ending though.
