Naruto Shippuuden
while not as mindless and irritating as the original finding it difficult care about some characters (eg.Garra ) as i chose not to waste 92 odd hours (25 min's x 220 episodes) of my life watching the original series. not that captivating but it's fun.
Finished Pumpkin Scissors and it so badly wants another series or 8 you can taste it. Since it is part of a long running manga series (6 volumes so far) it's hardly surprising. Will probably write a review of the entire series later. Chokotto sister has finally had some updates and while enjoying it, perfer the manga. Haruma was a lot more stoic about the whole Ayano thing and it was a lot more discrete in the manga. GitS 2nd Gig again more and more plot exposition this early on is kinda ruining the whole suspense element of the show. Also getting a little bored with the some what formulaic format of each characters episodes Motoko generally deals with either kids or anything enigamtic, Batou deals with warriors (honourable or otherwise) and Togusa deals with vulnerable women.

Basilisk 2, 3 and 4 - Any fans of dark/ninja art anime should DEFINATELY watch this. It's brilliantly animated and even though the storyline isn't that original (two raging clans, Iga and Kouga, killing each other off) it makes no difference. Basilisk presents itself in such a way that it truly stands out from most anime I've seen. Plus, the techniques/gimmicks of each ninja are far more imaginative and original than that of Naruto.

One Piece 10-16: I'm really impressed with this anime so far. I didn't really expect to like it all that much because most big mainstream animes tend to bore me (Bleach, FMA etc.), but I instantly fell in love with Luffy. The art is unique as it borders more towards the Western cartoon side of things, which is refreshing, and the fights are pretty cool. Well worth watching at least a few episodes, although I've heard it gets much better later on.

Just watched the first ep of the little-known Bartender. I'm rather impressed by its style and charm - certainly one I'll looking to see more of.

If you have to say that then that really suggests that it's not worth it...

Hmm? Do you mean that it's not worth watching 30 episodes of until it gets good? If you haven't given it a go yet, I think you should - I enjoyed it from the start and I'm one for more serious anime such as Bebop and Basilisk. :D

see, i said i wasn't too good with words heh..i have watched the entire series from 1 to 156 so far, and have enjoyed every episode, what i meant is that i found it gradually got better as the episodes went on..If that makes more sense =/

I watched the first episode of Fist of the North Star today it was just... awesome, except for the crappy animation it was just right for me. ATATATATATATATA. <3 Crystal King.

Just watched my neighbours the yamadas and loved it.
The art style was hardly ghibli but seemed to fit perfectly with the theme of the story.
A lovely movie that is more relaxing than taxing and a must see.

Chobits 5 - Start moving the story along quicker you buggers! another "meh" episode for me, nothing interesting happened and the only funny line was in the preview for the next episode. I'm hoping this picks up because i liked the concept and it has fairly good reviews.

Meloncholu of Haruhi
8 - Quite a good episode, part two of the island story. The characters in this show really put a smile on my face and the ending song is just so bloody catchy.

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora
4 - Now in my top ten favourite anime. The mix of drama, comedy and love is just so spot on it's unbelievable. This episode was a deep one with emotions running high your heart strings are constantly being plucked and at the end of this episode when the song started playing my bottom lip was going (big baby springs to mind) This is a great show and i'm singing every praise for it, with the right license and dub cast this could down a treat on the continent. Even though it's still a fansub right now i urge everyone that likes drama/comedy/romance or just a bloody good anime to go watch this. You will not regret it!

You should read the Chobits manga.
As you might the story moves quicker and believe me whan I say the good reviews you heard of are spot on.
This is a great story that soon picks up pace and becomes a far different and more mature story than the first 3 volumes or so make it out to be.

I watched Mahoromatic - Automatic Maiden earlier and although entertaining, it's a weird one.

How the heck can anything be charming yet ecchi, funny yet sad, and have an ending that's both happy and depressing. :?

If your talking about the final episode (there are two seasons) DON'T WATCH IT. Mainly as it makes less sense than Rahxephon's ending and destroys the characters better than Evangelion. Find a copy of the last volume of the manga and read it instead. It is one of the most commonly used example of a Gianax ending (ie and ending that is totally out of whack with the rets of the series). The manga ending has generally the same idea, but it makes more sense and donesn't make you want to slit your wrists.

I won the first volume of GUNxSWORD on DVD and I've just watched the first episode.

GUNxSWORD episode 1 (dub) - As far as dubs go, I thought this was brilliant. I haven't seen the original but I was more than impressed with it - the main character is ace and reminds me of sword-wielding Spike Spiegel! I didn't really dig the whole 'transforming into a giant robot' idea too much as I'm not a mecha fan, but I enjoyed the few brief fights in which you see just how cool Van's sword is. I'll definately be watching the next 3 episodes at some point. (Does anyone know how many episodes there are to this series?)

There's 26 eps if I remember correctly, I've seen it all subbed and quite enjoyed it (especially the un-donkey'd ep 17 DVD version ).

Today I watched Cardcaptor Sakura vol 17&18, Le Chevalier D'eon ep 17 and HSD Kenichi ep 12.

Da Capo 1 - Not much you can say in a first episode in a long series, has some good reviews so i'll stick around for a few episodes and see what becomes of it.

Meloncholu of Haruhi
9 - To be honest i was a bit scheptical of this series when i first watched it but now i like it. Nice blend of comedy and sheer random fun. seeing another side of Haruhi is fun, especially when shes been a bossy cow.

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora
6 - So tonight was the conclusion of this amazing anime, I'm a little bit harder on romance/comedy/drama as 9/10 you can tell whats going to happen. Not the case here, the story is simply fantastic and there are twists and turns that keep you on your toes. The ending, while rushed does leave room for a sequel which i think would be great. Progression a few years into the story would be something i would love to see, you will understand when you watch it. No licenses ATM so it's fansubs only folks, but it is a great peice of work and worth the time.
