Your viewing journal

Out of curiosity, would you recommend seeing the short before watching the 2 part series or not? I mean is it needed? Really wanna watch it but dunno if I should try find the short first or not.
You should totally check out the short first!

I mean it's not required to make sense of the features, and they show most of the important parts of the short in the first(?) feature. But it's a great intro to the concept of what a dragon dentist is, plus it's only like 9 minutes long, and right here in this window you're looking at. In fact, stop reading this and watch it below.

Remember to turn on the CC.
(Rui: sorry, video removed as it's not an official distribution...)

That just sums up every Gundam series.

I get that, I just don't know how many more times I can watch that basic set up and not get bored, unless they do something radical with it. It's why Turn A has my interest, the whole steampunk thing could be interesting to say the least.

Stop me if you've heard it before, but I feel War in the Pocket does break the mould. I think by following a little kid who, for once, is genuinely a non-combatant, it feels more like a wartime childrens' adventure story gone horribly wrong when reality intervenes. It isn't as heartrending as either, but as a narrative, I feel it has more in common with Grave of the Fireflies or Barefoot Gen than the usual fare.

It's the only Gundam thing I would unequivocally go to bat for.

Katanagatari - episodes 1-3

Wow this is better than I thought it would be. The characters are all interesting, and have unique personalities. The story while simple is engaging. The music is awesome, and makes the battle scenes just awesome.

I hope it can keep this up for the remaining episodes.

Nyanko Days, Episode 8

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Episode 7

Please tell me! Galko-can, Episodes 7 - 9

Interviews with Monster Girls, Episode 8

If only all arms tasted like Ice Cream. It would certainly resolve a lot of issues with regards to sweet cravings!

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works-Episodes 2-5

As much as I don't want to make myself sound like an idiot who only cares about 'muh splosions', the more action centric, less dialogue driven nature of UBW over Zero is already giving me a bit of a preference towards the former.

ACCA 13-Episode 8

Wow, another episode with plot! That dry spell of not a lot happening in the middle kinda makes me wonder if this series could've done with being shorter...

Please tell me! Galko-chan, Episodes 10 - 12 [Completed]

KONOSUBA -God's blessing on this wonderful world! 2, Episode 5

Gabriel DropOut, Episode 8

Satania really needs to wear her glasses more, this revelation has probably boosted her to Number 2 Best DropOut!

Wakaba * Girl
, Episodes 1 - 7

After finishing Galko-chan, I had the urge to go back and watch Wakaba * Girl again, probably due to the Gyaru connection!

The Case of Hana & Alice

Already having withdrawal symptoms from A Silent Voice, so I thought I'd watch another Anime Limited film that I first saw at the cinema and love to bits. I've seen this umpteen times now. :)

Bakemonogatari ep10-11

The uncomfortable jokes about Araragi 'molesting' Mayoi, I can live with, but I could have done without the quasi-rape scene in this arc.

Sabagebu! ep10-11

I think the movie parodies are my favourite part of this show - the Predator one wasn't as funny as Mad Grannies X, but it was still spot on.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid-Episode 8

Not entirely sure what to make of Elma just yet. I think she was introduced a tad too late.

KonoSuba-Episode 8

That ending bit really got me.

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works-Episodes 6 and 7

Some really excellent fights in Episode 7, the animation quality is still blowing me away. I also think the philosophical debate between Shirou and Archer is quite interesting, and provides some good food for thought, as well as tying into the end of Fate/Zero.

Just started the Benizakura arc in Gintama (think it's episode 58).

I've watched nothing but gintama for the past 3-4 weeks and I'm surprised I'm not bored of it and clamouring for something else. Show manages to stay fresh and interesting thanks to its madcap stories and short arcs.
