Carnival Phantasm. It's one of those shows where I've seen a bunch of clips on YouTube, but haven't actually watched. It seems pretty great though.

I can't comment on miscasts since I haven't seen the sub, but I did think Mikado was one of the weaker VAs. I did like Masaomi's a lot though, so what do I know? :p

It's not that Bryce Papenbrook is a bad actor, I like him in other shows. It's just he's not right for Masomi. I also have difficulties with how excessively "LA" the dub is, given how clearly set in Ikebukuro it is, and how important Ikebukuro is as a setting.

Barakamon ep4

Handa trying to use the old-style phone. I died.

Occultic;Nine ep11

For all the things this show is accused of, my only serious complaint is the frequency with which we get scenes of the characters sitting around a table and explaining the plot to each other. I get that they're trying to pack a lot into the suitcase here, but gee whiz.

Gankutsuou : The Count of Monte Cristo Episodes 1-24 (Finished)

I just finished my marathon of Gankutsuou, and I have to say I'm kicking myself for not watching such a brilliant show earlier. I loved the art, the narrative the pacing and the characters. I thought I could somewhat predict the plot based off what I knew already about the original novel, but the twists and turns of the story kept me so interested that I needed to know what happened next.

I would rate the show a solid 9/10 with slight flaws to the plot near the end that if weren't there would of made this show a masterpiece in my mind. This title alone has made the mystery box 100% worth the money.

KissDum Engage Planet - Episodes 23 - 26 [Final] + OVA

An OK series - nothing more nothing less.

Hyper Future Vision GUNNM (aka Battle Angel Alita) - Episodes 1 & 2 [Final]

I watched this on VHS in the 90's, but this the first time I've watched the DVD in a few years, I think it is quite a nice contained story and I love the aesthetic of it.

Yuri!!! On Ice - Episode 11

Actually now finding this a little tedious.

Fuse memoirs of the hunter girl

Was an entertaining movie with a interesting plot. The art and animation was beautiful and the characters were decently developed. A solid 7.5/10

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya-Episodes 3-5 (Rewatch)

Even though it's my second time around, I'm still in awe of how great the animation in fight scenes is.

Recently finished watching MVM's Kill Me Baby. Hilarious stuff! I loved it. :D

Yesterday, watched the bonus disc that comes with AL's Miss Hokusai Ultimate Edition. It has an interesting interview with director Keiichi Hara filmed at Scotland Loves Anime 2015, and an in-depth and very revealing 2-hour look at the making of the film. Hara's crisis of confidence caused by his fondness for the source manga nearly derailed the project at one point...

(Highly recommend the Miss Hokusai UE, by the way! ;))

Whoops! Totally forgot to post here yesterday.

Monday 19th December:

Sakura Trick
-Episodes 7-9 (Rewatch)

Scorching Ping Pong Girls
-Episode 12 (Complete)

First show of the Autumn finished. Honestly, this is probably the most underrated show this season. Really wasn't expecting much but it turned out great. Really needs a second season though, the story ends right before the big tournament.

Tuesday 20th December:

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya
-Episodes 6-10 (Complete)

Having Assassin be the Heroic Spirit from F/Z when literally every other Servant in the show is the one from the VN is an incredibly odd choice.

Sakura Trick-Episodes 10-12 (Complete)

March comes in like a Lion 10 - This was a pretty damned powerful episode. It's hard to go into it without spoilers, but you really get a view of the other side of the show. The darker side of Rei and those from that side of his life. It very much feels like a struggle to come to terms with who he is and break him away from that dark world he's shut himself in. Very well done. Possibly one of my favourite shows of the year, easily.

Mai Mai Miracle - I will admit, i had no real intention of going to watch this at the time, but i'm glad i did. My girlfriend had it backed at the time, and it's a very nice film. Does a very good job of capturing the power of a childs imagination and just how much it helps to bring kids together. Not only that, but just how strong imagination can be to anyone in any situation in bringing something to smile about. I do recommend watching it at least once. Very much worth while
